roc you're missing my point entirely. who wants to play 100 ranks of colonel prestige? even in bf2 you could grind for the general ranks that were something different, and special. in 3 months time every single server on bf3 will be full of colonels. the only difference will be a tiny number underneath their name. amazing. i miss the days of early bf2 where seeing an officer (anything above butter bar) or a colonel would mean "oh, damn, playing with a real hardcore no-lifer here" or "imma squad up with this person because they clearly know their shit". in bf3 you're given ranks on a plate. it's all part of this console-style game design where everything you do needs 3 ribbons, a medal, a choir singing your praise, and 5 fatherly pats on the back. it's bullshit. and in the end it only kills the lifespan of their own game.

I agree. Worst thing to happen to PC gaming is not piracy but the current generation of consoles.

It's interesting I suppose (in a sci-fi movie sense), but you can simply look at America (or simply just civilized societies in general) from 1900 to 1970...we went from horseback to the moon, from iron-framed buildings to towering steel superstructures, etc.   

It's amazing how fast technology can advance in a short period, and piss-poor historical records of the fact are no reason to doubt that humanity was capable of it, completely on our own, in the past.

well it took me 50 hours, playing all the shitty maps and using all kits. it took you 70 hours playing 24/7 metro whoring the assault.
