It was for Jay's benefit. Minecraft has mechanical considerations if you want to play it beyond building a dirt hut, you know.

I'd be surprised if they're interfering with non-aggro mob spawning any more than I estimated. Easy fix would be to merely create a tower with grass floors in the middle of the ocean if someone wanted more reliable spawns for pork, leather and steaks.

Yes I know, as you'll see, I've not built a dirt hut.

The point of a game is to be fun, not play it like a spreadsheet

No, you play EVE like a spreadsheet.

But seriously, if I didn't think Minecraft was fun, I'd either change the way I play or play something else. I, for one, am glad of being able to explore the city without rebuilding creeper-demolished roads or repairing enderman decay, and the best way to do that is to space surface torches four blocks apart from each other.

The question of fence posts reducing spawn area wasn't even one I brought up; just followed up on. I just continued the pattern (torch on fence) that was near the exchange terrace when I started playing again. Seems to be less tempting to "borrow" torches that way, and keeps things lit if something happens to the dirt/whatever beneath it.

Yep, I build 4 of them roughly in the N,S,E,W directions.  Its located in a rare valley.  Before 1.8 minecraft rarely generated valleys.

I proposing a dual rail system.  1 rail going to the outpost and a rail coming from.  The stops will be a turned off booster rail.(They act like breaks when off.)  With a button to turn it on if your stopped.  That way you don't have to get out and move to the next rail.

I thought you were removing all plugins once 1.9 was released because keeping them updated was too much of a pain in the ass.
Remove them once 1.9 is here and add them again once were on a stable version of the full game (i believe it will be fully released in a week or 2 at that miecon thing, so I'm not sure where 1.9 is going to fit in)

Nobody's forcing people to use the warps, but I love spawn and exchange. I'd hate to see them removed.

Rarely on these days, but keep warps. Those outposts are miles away. If i want to go explore, i dont want to have to spend half the day trying to get back to exchange...
