Lower your core speed the lower the temps, so a higher multiplier could help. Although with a half decent cooler I don't think it will be too much of an issue. Probably best just to overclock with your standard multiplier, and a good fsb ratio.
yeah this akasa heatsink i have is a piece of shit... have remounted it so many times and still just doesn't perform very well, really. will look into buying a new one pretty soon.

What RAM do you have? Often the fan will cover the RAM slots, but if you have low profile RAM it will still fit. The annoying thing would be having to take the fan off the heatsink if you wanted to remove the RAM.Uzique wrote:

They're not better than the absolute best air coolers, but if you would see a performance difference over what you currently have, it's definitely worth it. Be sure to not get the lowest model. Get the better one with the fat radiator and two fan configuration.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:

I don't overclock my processor at all and the block that sits on top of your processor is tiny (a pain in the ass to mount on the H70 with AM3 socket but it's tiny). I had the exact same problem you have with RAM but I don't even have anything mounted on the chips themselves. But as you said, it is a bit expensive. Given how many different heatsinks there are out there, I'm sure you'll find something you'll like and that also fits your needs.
If your not looking to overclock but are having trouble with tall ramsinks, you can usually find those Coolit eco all in one watercoolers for cheap. Their quiet too.
Going to buy some more RAM to bring my system from 4 to 8 GB. Currently have DDR2 667. Been a while since I've mucked with this stuff, so compatibility has escaped me. Do I have to get exactly the same type and speed, or just the same type or just the same speed?

I'll be upgrading from 4GB to 8GB in December once hard drives come down in cost. Want to get that new case then, too. Unfortunately I think my 4GB in chips that I have in there now are faulty, so I may send them in and then turn around and sell them when I get them back (while enjoying brand new 8GB Mushkin chips so I'm not without RAM during the RMA wait time).
Does anyone know how I can get a program to start up minimised to the tray instead of just minimised to the taskbar?
If I edit the shortcut to run as minimised it just starts minimised to the taskbar which isn't what I want. If I press minimise on the application itself it will go down to the tray like I want it to but I need this to be in the tray from startup...

as far as I'm aware I don't think there's a way to do it through windows, I think it'd be through the program itself.
