A host of the NBA’s top players are planning a worldwide exhibition tour spanning multiple continents, according to multiple reports.
The tour is scheduled to take place during what would have been the first two weeks of the NBA’s regular season. It would start in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Oct. 30, and then travel to London’s O2 Arena (Nov. 1 and 3); Macau, China (Nov. 5); and Melbourne, Australia (Nov. 8 and 9), Yahoo! Sports reports.

Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Derrick Rose, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, Rajon Rondo, Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Carlos Boozer, Paul Pierce and Kevin Love are among the players expected to participate, according to ESPN. Kevin Durant, Kevin Garnett and others are considering it. Dwight Howard turned down the opportunity.
The players will earn from six figures up to $1 million for their participation, sources tell ESPN. The “bigger the names, the bigger the paychecks,” according Yahoo! Some of the proceeds will go to charity.
Atlanta business mogul Calvin Darden, along with the players’ agents, have been planning the venture for about three months, ESPN reports. Darden wants the games to be broadcast internationally, including in the U.S.
A settlement of the labor deal would obviously mean the tour won’t go off, and ESPN reports the tour “has not yet been finalized and there's still a chance it could unravel.”
