Both Bad Company games gave C4 to the Recon class, and considering BF3 resembles the BC series more then it's older PC predecessors, it's odd they'd give explosives to the soldier with unlimited ammo.FloppY_ wrote:

Support has C4 and Claymores, one of the biggest mistakes DICE made in BF3 removing a pure Recon/SF tool that defined the series.
I've seen it used once since release.
Assault could be equipped with c4 in BC2, so it has been done before where the ammo class can get explosives. Support also has had the mortar call ability for in Battlefield 2 Modern Combat and BC1 but support didn't have ammo packs in either of those. It absolutely makes no sense.TopHat01 wrote:

Why don't they stop giving the engineer the rocket launcher, and give him both c4 and landmines instead?
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
An assault person can't resupply their explosives (gren/c4) from their own pack, FYI. Negates a lot of the concerns.
In bad company 2? I resupplied my explosives all the time as assault. Just is slower than regular ammo.chuyskywalker wrote:

Assault has medikits. Support has ammo....
I for one, am glad they went back to the 2142 style classes... It's the most logical one...
Assault can heal and revive on the front line where it is needed
Engineers gonna engineer
Support hang back a little, players can fall back to them to resupply.
Recon should recon, but they usually sit on a rock waiting for someone to run into their scope

To be fair, the assault class was pretty useless in bf2
