I do find the scope funny on the .22

What magnification does it have? Because to be honest, on a .22 you can't shoot far enough to need a scope with any accuracy. Unless your Mrs can't aim on blade or tunnel sights. (I'm a good shot on blade sight's but can't use tunnel sights for a damn)

My cousin and I shoot our .22s on a 100 yard range... We shoot 2 inch targets and the lids off of milk jugs... Scopes on .22s are FUN.

I don't know about you, but I can't see a 2 inch target from 100 yards... LOL

I also have a .22 handgun with a red dot scope on it. Also very fun.
