Joysticks were always important to some in BF2 and vital to flying jets like a boss. You guys that haven been playing so far do you think a joystick would give an edge or what? I'm thinking about buying one.
20 dollar logitech attack 3, all you need.

This may sound weird but I find the best thing for flying is an Xbox 360 controller. $30 and the drivers are built into windows 7. They are even pre-mapped in game from the console version.
^ Obvious console port now even more obvious.

If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.
since we cant test in an empty server trying to work out stick controls is beyond frustrating. I might have to give into the 360 controller idea. I tried to get used to kb/mouse and arrow keys but I have used a stick way too long to adjust
I can vouch for the xbox controller idea. After playing numerous hours in the Ace Combat series, the flying just comes naturally. It works quite well.
"Raise the flag high! Let the degenerates know who comes to claim their lives this day!"
I got my stick working! you just have to ignore the fact that it puts controller names in for your binds and change the stupid inverted stuff. I can stay on just about nayones tail now but it is also hard as hell to shake a good pilot and survive. I need a wingman!
Going to dust off my Sidewinder 2 FF and get in some hours tomorrow if I can.
mine works well
well you came out of the woodwork, haven't seen you in a whileduk0r wrote:
The inability to not test your controls for a jet is something I hope they fix in an upcoming patch.
edit: err in a good way

I got a Saitek x52 plugged it in and couldnt kill shit with it in bf2. Kept on flying into trees and the ground. Unplugged after a hour and reconfigured settings to mouse and keyboard and proceeded to go 50-0 for the rest of my bf2 life in jets. Joysticks suck cox n dix unless ur playing a flight sim.
Got a x52 as well. I can't imagine playing BF2 without it..:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

Those X52 joysticks are really nice. I've had mine for about 5 years and done ALLOT of flying with it and it still works great!.:ronin:.|Patton wrote:

You should consider selling it if you are not ever going to use it.
