LOMFG! CONTROVERSIAL TOPIC!!
Alright, before I continue, I ask you all to keep an open mind on this topic, this is only my two cents
Squad Hopping, what It is:
Squad hopping is two things, it can be the cycling of squad leaders by leaving having said leader leave and rejoin, to cycle through players to get a certain player who has a position of advantage be become leader, this place may be
A) A key flag/hiding spot near a key flag, (eg, somewhere around tv station at sharqi)
B) An uncap, Possibly an M95 spot, to sniper jets/choppers or maybe to steal vehicles (Eg, carrier on wake)
C) Just any old sniping spot
D) Anywhere else
whatever the choice the squad has chosen to cycle for, it poses a dangerous threat to the other team,
The other form of hopping, is leaving your squad, and joining another squad to be closer to the battle, I think this one is the only acceptable type of hopping, because who the hell wants to run 5ks across the map, only to be sniped?
Should a squad be efficient in cycling (Voip/Clans/Ect) it is very very hard to remove them. last night, I happened to be playing against (Ark)DJJeffero, Australia's top player, and guess what?
He had his clan with him...........
And guess what they did............Squad hop
And the killer thing about this was, they wanted to get into that Havok no-matter what!
First it started with them rushing with cars and soldier, At the start of the round and when that didn't work, they started to still rush with cars, but launch a dual-pronged attack, they had two cars come from hotel, and from city entrance!
but still, half my team (Who were sitting at the chopper spawn, had some sense, and some decided to defend,
So their attack was countered but still, they came, one of them, managed to get out of the car and hide, and guess what! Squad hop!
And this was when the real nightmare started, they all started to spawn AT, to ground our chopper, I was a sniper, so it was fun playing with these guys, eventually, they started to advance to us, and ran into my claymores, I ran and took cover, but was shot, fortunately for me, I was revived and went to check out the damage.....
Yeah, but still! They had one sniper hidden back in some trees, and cycled to him! And after that, when their forces got close, cycled to the closest guy! So now we had a mobile squad rotating squad advancing at us! Kill one, two more pop up!
Finally we got them all, but it was too late, we were 7 tickets left, and the whole match, the only flag we capped fully and actually held was hotel..........
My final say is that: If squad hopping is utilised by a squad efficiently, you are pretty much screwed unless you also have a squad that can hop as well,
Here, Ill take something from the BF2 Manual, "When you hear your squadleader speak - Listen up! Its in your best intrest to keep him alive"
Im not saying that you shouldnt rush if you are a SL, but Im saying that you members need to help keep you alive, that means, if you are a medic, and you see your squad leader on the ground, along with several other scattered friendly bodies, which one do you revive? Duhhhh The SL! That is how you become an effiecient squad, work together well, and none of you should have to spawn! Barring those freak accidents that you cant prevent, like getting cut down by a friendly vod, getting attacked by a chopper/jet when there is no AA around,
SARRK OUT!
