They announced multiplayer co-op officially today...

You play as a Krogan, a Salarian, a Turian and an Asari to take control of area's shepard needs to control in the singleplayer.

It's exactly what fans DIDN'T want it to be, tied in with the singleplayer.

The better you do in the multiplayer, the better ending you get in singleplayer

Some sources say it's optional, but what "optional" means remains to be seen.

Personally I don't think multiplayer belongs in this AT ALL. It's a storydriven game about Shepard, his/her reactions and choices.

Well it's not a "sudden fail"... As much as I love ME2 it wasn't as great as the first imo... The main story was completely insignificant to the trilogy and the game lacked those extremely memorable moments that left you in awe. e.g. Arriving on the Citadel, Becoming the 1st human spectre, Talking to Sovereign, The entire Ilos mission, The beacon mystery, The Thorian and so much more...

I'd mention the choice between Kaidan and Ashley too but that was a no-brainer since Ashley was such an unlikeable character it hardly felt as a bad thing to get rid of her... I guess you can't spell Ashley without Ash? lolol

Well by sudden I mean, inputting MP like this in the third game. Sure maybe ME2 wasn't AS epic as ME1, but by no means was it bad. It was still a solid game for the series that could have ended on a high note with this one. But hey it saves me 60 bucks so cool.

Well... I don't think it's a reason not to buy the game, though it's no doubt a bad decision.

I just hope EA keep their moneyhungring fingers away and leave Origin optional for this... otherwise I won't buy it either...

Mass Effect 2's media stuff all did nothing for me, all seemed alternatively over dramatic or unrepresentative but I enjoyed the game. No reason to assume that Mass Effect 3 will be any different. It will be basically the same with some changes that will be retarded/"controversial" (ie. mining system) or better (ie. companion missions much more structured and relevant). Third person cover gameplay still seems to be all the rage for console games so thats what it will be.

Well, I really hope that the co-op is optional. It's just completely unnecessary. It's not a deal breaker though.
