Well i don't like the changes, that makes everything easier to get. Now there is no point in getting them since everyone will have them. Now all the awards will be meaning less, epically the knife and pistol and the W.C.R

that defeats the purpose of the badges being "Expert" they are supposed to be hard to get, not easy like the Basic and Veteran. and the W.C.R is supposed to be hard to get and very few people are supposed to get it. it is meant for players that play a long time and are good commanders, now all that matters is the time and points.

I don't like these changes and i think it defeats the purpose of getting the medals/badges/ribbons. and i agree with someones post about EA trying to get people to finish with bf2 so they will move on to bf2142. I think i am still going to aim for all the previous requirements anyway, i like them better, they make it challenging. and for everyone who is at like a 2.50 Win/Loss ratio i feel for you, that sucks now that their taking it away.

I love this patch now. WOO HOO! I really wanted the Combat Infantry, and I'll soon get Marksman!

But I think they went over the top for knife - they should have left vet and changed expert to 14.

I'm inclined to agree, he doesn't even mention a source. Usually rumours and non-official info at least claims to be leaked. Not even attempting to lie up a source gives it a very low credibility IMO.

This is horseshit, now everyone can get the WCR!

I want atleast one ribbon/badge that requires a kdr and some serious skill!

Im pissed off about them removing the IAR reqs for knife too, I felt onto of the world when I got my vet knife, I seriously went to school and just screamed it out, I was that happy!

anyway, here is my take on the changes

Verteran Knife
Removed in round requirement This is bull, it was fine as it was, if you could get basic, you could get vet, simple!

Expert Knife
Removed in round requirement again, this is stupid, This truely was an EXPERT BADGE, enphasis on EXPERT! FFS the idea of having experts with high reqs was because you needed to be an EXPERT to get them! FFS!

Basic Explosive
Lowered from 13 kills to 5 kills in a round I got no beef with this, I think 7 would be better

Vet Explosive
Lowered from 23 to 20 kills in a round No beef here either, but there is some cheese! I would have set it 15

Expert Explosive
Lowered from 37 to 30 kills in a round (hopefully this will kill the gheymores!) Again, I am angry at this sudden ease of getting experts! yeah, 37 was high, but you did need to be an EXPERT to get them! Would have set them 35

Expert First Aid
Increased Time requirement from 54000 (15h) to 360000 (100h) - like resupply/repair
decreased heals from 25 to 20 in a round (Still almost impossible to get but a lot better than 25) I dont see any problems with this 25 is pretty hard to get, with everyone dieing and such, not stopping for health

Expert Repair
decreased repairs from 25 to 20 in a round Finaly! Some love for the engis![b]

[b]Instead of doing individual from now on, Ill just give a verdict for all the below

All of these changes are the only real URGENT things needing changes, because they all required hidious ammounts of time to get them, so I am happy with these changes

Vet Transport
Decreased time from 180000 (50h) to 90000 (25h)

Exp Transport
Decreased time from 540000 (150h) to 270000 (75h)

Vet Heli
Decreased time from 360000 (100h) to 180000 (50h)

Expert Heli
Decreased time from 1440000 (400h) to 540000 (150h)

Vet Aviator
Decreased time from 360000 (100h) to 180000 (50h)

Expert Aviator
Decreased time from 1080000 (300h) to 540000 (150h)

Vet Air defense
Removed time requirement
Lowered kills from 12 to 10 in a round

Exp Air Defense

Strange that there is no mention of veteran armor being changed.. can't see why they would leave that at 400 hours for expert but reduce everything else.

And why remove IAR requirement for vet knife when you still need to get 7 IAR for basic?????

Honestly I think that It will be nice to have many awards much more 'gettable'. I don't like many of the changes in the first section, the knife especially (i worked damn hard getting good with that thing), but the lowering of times in vehicles is much better, i don't want to have to spend 1058h in those things for expert . Anyway, just my thoughts

You guys think it's fun that everyone can obtain the medals now? Take Expert Ground Defense. I have more than 60 hours in that one to get the expert badge. Now all noobs can get it without being in it for 60 hours. That's some dumb shit!

I know when I got all the medals I will play bf2 a lot lesser than I am now. I know I am not going to buy any EA game again. It's time for some other aspects of life. If this gets changed, bf2 will lose some customers, including me.

The only ones in that list that seem really odd to me are the removal of the IAR req's for the knife badges.

I've got my Veteran knife badge, and a total of 135 knife kills. Now, with the removal of the IAR, it looks like I'll get Expert knife more or less free. That'll be nice and all, my medal collection could do with a bit of gold that wasn't star-shaped, but it does seem a little easy.

18 stabbings in one round is damn tough. I've tried (got 15 once), and I know that it's probably a little beyond my ability right now, but I'm getting slowly better at the game. To me, the only reason to try for the badges is for personal satisfaction, to prove to yourself that you're able to. Making getting them easier makes them less satisfying. (Same reason I don't frequent knife/pistol servers. Getting the badges there means next to nothing. I joined one unknowingly recently and got kicked for machine-gunning people :] )

Anyway, I'll see what change the patch really brings before I try for expert knife again (since even a succesful attempt is likely to do horrible things to my rather poor K/D ratio).

when does it change ? i just tried for ground defence got my 20 kills but no award so stuck with it 35 kills i ended up with but no medal, also i should just have the armor medal but no................... any ideas when they will be put into action ? if it will ? i agree though hours and hours of vehicles sucks

here's what i found out so far from observing the tests:

This guy has basic explosives with only 7 explosives kills: http://bf2s.com/player/68462909/
so looks like they dropped the reqs for that

other than that i didn't find anything that conflicts with current badge/medal/ribbon reqs

Also... as you can see this guy has 6 pistol kills, but does not have his pistol basic... so looks like there still is IAR req: http://bf2s.com/player/68463674/
also http://bf2s.com/player/68462785/ meeting both "new" pistol and knife reqs... no badges
