ATi HD 5670 512MB

If I upgrade the graphics card to a GTX 550 Ti 1GB could I pull medium settings in BF3? I get over 40 FPS in BC2 with my current setup at medium settngs, 1680 X 1050, DX 9 mode.

Here's a dumb question, is BF3 likely to support 1920x1200 resolution?
If not will I get two black lines and 1920x1080 or some distorted non-native rubbish?

Just debating a 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 screen.

Having multiple screens seen as one resolution (3 x 1920x1200 becomes 5760x1200 ) is a feature that both amd and nvidia can provide.
AMD calls it eyefinity, nvidia calls it surround vision. Looks pretty sweet, but requires powerful GPU/GPUs !
I think BF3 will support it, BC2 does...

560ti is a much better card and not much more expensive.

Have you found that to be truly useful in practice? I tried playing a few games with a bunch of old 19" monitors that I had lying around in the office and I really couldn't get used to it, maybe it was just the screens themselves that were the issue but I don't feel like buying a 3rd 24" to find out.

Any ideas on min spec to run BF3 maxed out at 1920x1200 ? Money is not really an object in a way that I wont miss out on life if i spend alot, but I would rather be able to afford to persue other activities.

I currently have

q9450 which does 3.4GHZ comfortably
Gigabyte DS3 P45
4GB Patriot PC8500

Thats all i have, and tbh if its shit for BF3 I would rather just use this PC in my study as a full time business computer/server.

getting constant 70fps and it looks fantastic, they really put a lot of effort into optimising this thing.
