For the people that like free falling, I've dug down right through a mountain, from 120 blocks up down to 5. Takes approx 4 - 5 seconds to fall down. Warp to outpost03 if you like and look around at the mountains, you should be able to see some netherrack burn up one of the mountains, it is up there.
Also that water looks awesome

Notch is allowing the height of the maps to be changed with mods installed on the server. I am so going to do this. Going to set it to 256 instead of 128.

Oh we have seen lots. Everything loads so quickly and we can set the viewing distance back to 10. They even gave us a little discount.

No I did not. But, we stopped getting errors in the minecraft server console since the upgrade. So I would suspect it can properly generate mobs. We did not change anything on the minecraft server itself.
definitely see a ton more mobs
