The scar-l was shit. the UMP and the 9a-91 were the two best SMG's.
The only bad thing about the 9a was the size of it's clip. Otherwise did a ton of damage and was damn accurate.

The SCAR, ACOG, and extra bullet damage combo made it an assault rifle.
I did enjoy the UMP a lot, but I only used it as an SMG. I know the SCAR wasn't the best choice but I enjoyed using it and did well.

VSS is the beast, gun is so deadly. Just get extra ammo and stopping power and you are good to go.

That, and the Scar has pretty good iron sights. If you get into a firefight with a Scar at the range a 4x scope is needed, you'll lose. That's what rockets are for.

no one knew how to shoot accurately with the guns, hence an94's 2-burst was so powerful. dps doesn't really matter if you dont hit. i guess i could have done just as good with an assault rifle, though, but i liked being able to kill vehicles too so i sticked with the best engy weapon most of the time.
oh and i dont know how it is nowadays, i stopped a year ago. no idea what the patches have done. i remember the AKu being pretty decent until the nerfed it, too

The SCAR was a beast, I hated the iron sights though, and the red dot was only good for CQB and I liked the ACOG a lot, I did great with it.

According to this site most of the SMGs do the same amount of damage. I don't know if the specs have been changed in patches since this article has been written though.

I switch up guns every gold star I get. So I use the 9a-91 for 100 kills then switch to the scar and so on and so forth.
Only perks I use are extra explosives and extra explosive damage. No other perks are necessary for the engy class as your role is to destroy tanks and fortifications.
