Whenever I flew, it didn't matter what my opponents were using. Most of the time they got raped, but it was nice to duel with someone who knew what they were doing. I've had great dogfights with M&K users and Joystick users.

I use a Joystick BTW, more precise for me.

wait. there was the normal cockpit view when you got in the plane but pressing 'C' would cycle through the other views so you could see all around you in ways the pilot IRL would never be able to.

It appears in that video that you can only look around in the cockpit in such a way a real pilot would be able to. So not directly behind like pressing 'C' 3 times would produce.

I didn't play the alpha so I don't know. I'm just going off the video 2 posts up
you've always been able to see around the cockpit in BF2.  Press ctrl and move you mouse around while sat in the cockpit gave you a good look around i think it was 180 degree vision.  But most people just removed cockpit view anyway.

also why would you need to press C three time, i used to put middle mouse button to rear view for immediate change of view. Then use the thumb mouse button for back to cockpit view.

yes i know m+k pilot were faygits, i couldnt be arsed to learn with a joystick.
Thumb mouse button?!

What sort of a mouse do you people use? Back in my day it was the left, right and scroller

MX518 has two thumb mouse buttons. use the big one to switch back to cockpit view.

EOD Bot

Radio Beacon

- Model looks like a little radio
- Can be placed anywhere

Micro UAV
- Is thrown onto the ground
- Play switches to UAV Camera
- can push the EOD Bot around
- Used for spotting enemies
- No Weapons but to be added?

Radar Beacon
- Can be placed on the ground
- Scans area for enemies
- Only available to Recon Class

Smoke Grenades
- Could be used to cover a choke point entirely
- Should be used to hide a wave of EOD Bots attacking.

not sure if this has been covered before but I like the fact that you can only look where the pilot would be able to see when piloting

i found it stupid that you could change the camera views to see behind you while piloting (or tank, etc.)
In BF2 you could hold a button and look around the cockpit, but you couldn't steer the plane at the same time. This is the way BF3 seems to work as well.

We need some type of system to look around WHILE flying. It would make dogfights much more fun.

Interesting.

Project Reality used a similar spawn system to the radio beacon and that worked out well.
As for the smoke grenades, I hope they are available as starting equipment rather than a perk.
They were effective on BC2, great for some tactical gameplay.

I enjoyed running around in BC2 and firing smoke screens for my team mates. Good fun when you want to change how you play a bit and do something abstract. Very helpful too.

Yeah

I'd just sit on a hill with an ammo box and spam smoke grenades until pretty much the whole place was a big smoke field

I think it might be like the beacon on 2142, without the drop pods obviously.

Getting my vehicle stuck on an online video game isn't horrifying or adrenaline-inducing. I'm fucking stuck in one place, when I could be backing up and getting away from the 2-3 guys shooting rockets and artillery at me.
