Uzi asked me to say that he wasn't planning on coming back, and was more interested in creating a new forum without the current administration.

While that would be nice, I don't think migrating from a dying forum is feasible. You'd just end up with two dead fora.

In defense of the higher powers, I recently received a sincere apology by PM when I was rather harshly banned for 3 days, so they're not all that bad

you have addressed this in a thread. the title "admin" is not democratic by nature or by definition, and the site owner promoted you to the title, and as far as that goes he's the only one that will remove that particular title.

i see you working. i've seen you post more, even in EE, and i can appreciate it. i stand by my statement, that KENNINGS spends more time with the membership and interacts with the regulars more. KEN would do well as admin, but i'm not advocating your removal from that title and burdening him with it. i would get behind demoting inactive admins and perhaps promoting Kmar . . . my point is, i see you being more involved and that can only be better.

as far as the heavy-handedness, we've suffered Trigger, Bannidictus, Flaming, Darth_banhammer, and to have an original admin modding (which is your prerogative) after the membership has dwindled to a handful, i would say - get to know the regulars.

You had changed my user title and I am thankful for that (I believe I did say thanks in advance in the PM I sent you as well), however I don't see why that should bar me from expressing critique. I take issue with the way things have been going in recent months, if you don't understand then clearly you must've completely skipped over any attempt by people to discuss the matter with you, let me quote;

I actually feel like you should reconsider your heavy-handedness in dealing with a userbase that has participated in the site for years and years and years. I understand your inclination to enforce forum rules in this way but at present it's, if anything, counterproductive. The forum has lost its original purpose and remains solely as a place for the people that still visit regularily to pass their time in either EE or DST, consider the purpose of dishing out 7 day bans in a forum which does not have an influx of new members anymore. It will not make people 'learn their lessons' or rethink what they did, if you want that it'd be much wiser to dish out shorter bans if you have to and perhaps discuss the behaviour of forum members through PM. I have no doubt that you'll be way more succesful in trying to preserve this place in conformity with the rules that way. Lastly I'd like to remark that due to the structure of the current userbase and its history very old members such as usm (as example cause he's been permd) are what makes this forum what it is right now. Removing people permanently serves no other purpose than to destroy an old community. People know him, know what he does, and I very much doubt anyone at this point would be severely insulted or surprised if he called them dicks. It's a shame that you feel that, at this point in time, anyone should be permd. That is usually done to protect the community or for the good of it, in cases like these it's not and it doesn't.)

i've never had a problem with the 13 times KENNING's has banned me, because he's logged in regularly and knows the difference between the give and take regulars have, as opposed to the modmin that reacts to the last post.

And numerous others who expressed dislike with your escapades, I remember someone stating that it was akin to looking at a playing field from your window, not liking what you're seeing and proceeding to throw rocks at people without ever actually getting in there to see what it's like for yourself. Needless to say I agree with that.... furthermore, people leaving the forum is only natural considering the state it's in right now isn't it? Blaming the userbase for it is a stretch, only very few actually left due to flaming. Anyway I'm glad to see that you've for-fucking-once responded (took some effort to get you to this point eh).

On your question about why I don't just message Chuy, firstly I'd rather first hear you before I start throwing out my complaints to the owner. Neither would I like to run for petitions or other such childish bullshit. Lastly I don't feel you should be removed for just this. Maniac and such were worse.

No, they left the forum because this is a site dedicated to a game that has a fraction of it's peak playerbase. How many people play BF2 anymore? A few hundred in the world? Of course a site dedicated to a dead game is dead. It had nothing to do with flaming, or mild pornography, or cursing. People just get bored and move on. the conduct of members of the forum had any bearing whatsoever on the demise of this site. The site had a shelf life from the very beginning and it's long past that point.

oh and I care because I like this site
