I picked up my own server yesterday. Its got a pentium D @ 2.8GHz with 1GB of ram and a 4 HDD hot swap bay w/ raid support. Got it for $50. They were just going to throw it out!

I know what a virtual machine is. If you create a minecraft server on a physical box its not really a VPS. You are misusing the term. 10 points from hufflepuff.
No my friend created his on a VPS. I created mine on the IBM server.
