damn
to be fair the gameplay footage prior to release has looked utterly shit so far, really unfinished.

Bro, why do even play games anymore?
i do still play games... good ones, ones that are fun. bro, why are you swallowing shitty half-finished games? have you seen the footage for red orchestra or just the 'cinematic trailer'? the game looked buggy as hell. i can guarantee you'd come here and trash it on release, it looks so bad. or are you one of those people that are fucking muppet-consumers... "it's only just been released guys, give them 3 months of updates to get it right!" no. the game needs to be finished on release. especially if they're rushing for mass-sales with steam sales and tf2 bullshit. they have to deliver. onus is on them, not me.

:hugs:
Because all games are released perfectly on day 1, right?Uzique wrote:

And you can tell the quality of a game easily due to the beta footage, too?
Wait, why am I taking an opinion of yours seriously, you're the guy who said Spore was great and you'd still be playing it in a year.

It's hard for an average Multiplayer game to hold ones' attention for a year, let alone a Single-Player sandbox game. I see SPORE as a casual laid-back game that's fun to fire up and tweak around whenever I'm bored or need to relax; SPORE is the stress-ball of games, the no-rush and no-competition immersive Universe you can start-up whenever you're feeling bored or frustrated of competitive FPS or timesink MMO's.wah1188 wrote:
If your into that whole sandbox thing you might get some enjoyment out of it. However I doubt you would be still playing it after a year.
I'm keeping it installed on my system and I'm definitely keeping the game on my 'favourites' shelf because of this reason. People that rushed through the Storyline as if it would be a cinematic Half Life 2 / Crysis-type affair clearly didn't think about the game. It's a fun diversion, a sandbox, a creative tool, a funny little Sims-like getaway into the world of God-sim. Play it that way- I know I am, and I'm loving it!
And were you?

uninstalling the game was my favourite stage of spore.
thank you for the hd space, thank you very much
wow you just totally invalidated my opinion because i'm not playing a casual single-player game 3 years after it came out? i went to university. i still played spore and the sims sometimes whilst at university / without internet. are you really trying to make a point there? i expect a lot more from multiplayer online fps games. if the devs are unhappy with red orchestra right now, why is it contentious for me to say that the youtube pre-release footage looked shite? why are you trawling through year old posts to make a point that doesn't exist? get a grip dave

lol not taking my opinion on online fps games seriously because i still don't have the same consistent attitude about a casual single-player game 2/3 years after release. good one m80. i've played online fps games a fuckload more than you and have rinsed them, in beta test and in final stage. why should anyone listen to you, again, whilst we're at it?

Not three years, one year after release you said how uninstalling was the best stage ever. You know, after stating how the game would still be installed and on your favourites list?Uzique wrote:

I'll take your critique of RO2 with a pinch of salt. I'm sure it's not a casual enough game for you, anyway.
new trailer
(I'm like GullyFolle for this game)

I see nothing appealing about that trailer whatsoever. The only cool thing I saw was the suppressing fire by the PPSH on the wall.
erm, tank combat looks pretty cool
I like how they added the AVT-40
looks like a proper sequel to RO1 and not much more?

Yeah that actually looked pretty disappointing.Zimmer wrote:

Hmph, AVS-36 is in that game.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.

I really like the original. Some good gameplay mechanics, both for infantry and tank combat, good "realism". And as with the first there should be some good mods, I think there's already a Vietnam and Pacific theatre mod in production.Stimey wrote:

played some of the beta today
very nice
still needs some bugs fixed though...... like the fact you randomly can't be damaged while peeking around corners

just peeking around corners, or just when leaning in general?krazed wrote:

cause it would be hilarious to see an army of soldiers walking up to the enemy while leaning... and being invincible

people aren't really abusing it yet......YET
