The recent “race riots” at the Wisconsin State Fair and around Milwaukee are becoming much too frequent and troubling. Yesterday, a mob of 200-300 black youths wreaked havoc on the opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair by terrorizing white attendees with beatings and looting. As one could imagine, State Fair Police and Security were caught completely off guard.
But the attacks didn’t stop there. Outside the fairgrounds, motorists were attacked in their cars while others were dragged off their motorcycles and beaten along 84th street. The youths also damaged a number of homes and property in their war-path.
Here’s Milwaukee Sheriff David Clark (An African-American) reacting to the recent “race riot” and calling out for better black leadership in the city:

Unfortunately however, this is just one of many occurrences in which this sort of thing is happening. On July 4th of this year, following Milwaukee’s Downtown Fireworks, there was a similar incident. A mob of black youths attacked and threw bottles at groups of white people at Kilbourne Reservoir Park. Many of them were injured and hospitalized.
A more detailed Account of that event can be found here.
That same evening, two gas stations within the vicinity were “ransacked” by the mobs. It was hardly a coincidence as one commenter described the situation; “a group of 75-100 black youth disturb[ed] traffic and moved west across the bridge.” That bridge took them to the Riverwest neighborhood where the robberies and attacks took place.
And last year on “Juneteenth” of 2009, similar incidents occurred. A mob of young black youths again terrorized the public. One man was pulled from his car then assaulted, while another man was shot in the shoulder.
While it’s obvious this violence is race related thus making it a hate-crime, prosecutors are reluctant to label it as such for fear of massive backlash from the African-American community and other special interest groups. The facts however speak for themselves. We have roving bands of African-American youths terrorizing white citizens of Milwaukee; the very definition of hate crimes.
In light of recent events, there’s debate as to how far a person should go to defend themselves. Wisconsin recently passed a concealed carry bill but according to the language of it, weapons are not allowed at large public gatherings including both Summerfest and the State Fair. Some people are calling to change that clause.
As one elder African-American who called in to Vicky Mckenna’s radio show promoted, maybe “shooting first and asking questions later” is the best way to handle this situation.
I particularly liked this part:
