Commuting isn't that awful but god damn that sounds like hell Tazz. I wouldn't commute that far to/from uni unless it was prohibitively expensive to live on/close to campus.

The idea of dorming with a bunch of 18 and 19 year olds sounds shitty. I rather be left alone and do my own thing.

what would you know of a typical undergraduate college experience, exactly? you went through the GI Bill and entered as a mature student. that's an ENTIRELY different experience and perspective to the typical-age undergrad (which tazz is). over here in the UK the typical undergraduate, fresh-faced and aged 18-19, is dying to move out of home and go and party for 3 years, away from the parental nest. why wouldn't they? surely that was one of the motivating factors leading you into the military service, too? how about you stop jumping off on your usual assumption game of lulzy stereotype and bitterness and just accept that i am right? literally 90% of all (first-year) undergraduates at british universities live away from home.

check out my homeschooling program. they give you a cool face when you get an A on a lesson lol.

btw 1 semester = 18 lessons, about 18 hours. you can finish a year of highschool credits in like less than half the time lol.

math is a little harder though and i probably spend like 1.5 hours on each lesson or so.

yes but we all know how fucking weird and abnormal you are. well established. plus didn't you work for like 2 years in a used-car lot or something? and then enroll part-time? why is it that all the non-typical undergraduate college guys are so eager to 'disprove' me here? how about some people that actually did university the normal way? jesus.

If one was to go to uni, I don't know why they would stay at home. If you don't wanna stay in the dorms then rent somewhere close to campus and share with other students, out of the hundreds of people I know who are at or have been to uni I can't think of one that stayed at home, a lot of them even chose a uni in a city far away just to get farther away from home, even people in their mid 20's love the student life, I only did it for 2 years myself but it was an experience I will never forget, I dunno may be it's a cultural thing but as Uzique says everybody in the UK stays on or near campus.

but galt knows better than me and im just chasing cocaine and being a hip faggot because living away from home during your early 20's is only for hip faggots that want to fit in with other live-away-from-home faggots i wish i had joined the military and then gone to a 'say what?' ranked college in my late 20's, then i'd really know best and would really have a better understanding of the undergraduate student experience.

i love how a guy from a naval college downtalks to me about the typical 'undergraduate student' experience, as if he ever had one, and then uses some spurious knowledge about me partying and having a great time to discount my own experience. i rinsed 3 years for all they were worth and i'm crazy nostalgic about university. i had the best time of my life, better than anything i could have hoped as a naive and immature 18 year old. who is jaded and bitter here? sounds like you, galt. all i said was that it's ridiculous imo to live away from uni, you're missing out on the most formative experience of your young adult life.

Oh.. You're telling me?  They're so fucking pampered.
interns over here have to work for 3 months non-paid in one of the most hyper-competitive, rushed-pace, expensive-to-live cities in the world. then they're often cycled through 3-4 internships and used as short-term slave labour, with not a lot of hope of securing a final placement (which is how internships did/should work, especially out in the more laidback areas)... i wouldn't say interns are pampered. i'm having to save for about 3 months of my life just to finance an internship... i'm working my ass off and saving for a summer so that i can then work for someone else, for free, for my next summer. it's not my idea of fun and far from my idea of "pampered". but it is simply what you have to do to get ahead and to get a good resume/reputation nowadays... i just hope your company is a prestigious one that can justify taking on free flunkies, rather than one of the many mediocre small-to-medium sized businesses that are just hopping on the free labour culture of today.
Oh, I know.  Most interns aren't pampered.  But our guys are... They're mostly 3rd or 4th year law students.

law students over here get a raw deal too... but good, fuck 'em. most of them are pampered and just doing the degree with the expectation of a high wage. now uk universities are awarding like 20x more law degrees per year than there are active soliciting practises or calls to the bar. fuck 'em.

Same here, the job market is flooded with people with JDs. Unless you go to a top-tier law school it is very hard to find good work as a lawyer. I think there are still opportunities at non-profits and NGOs and what not but I'm pretty sure most law students go to law school with the expectation of graduating into a six-figure salary or into the DOJ.
