What do you shoot most often or would like to shoot the most? Also as far as "more zoomz", do you mean greater telephoto, or just a bigger range?Jenspm wrote:
As for what I want from it, there are a few things that stick out when it comes to what I miss from my current situation: a larger aperture, and more zoomz. Also better at shooting with High ISO's/better at drawing in light/whatever, but I guess that's a camera body/house thing?
If portraits: either 50mm 1.8 ($100), 50mm 1.4 (~$400), or 85mm 1.8 (~$400)
If macro: try reversing rings and extension tubes first (~$15), then consider a 100mm macro (~$470)
If landscapes/wide angle: Sigma 10-20 4-5.6 (~$450), or Tokina 11-16 2.8 (~$750), or Canon 10-22 3.5-4.5 (~800)
If birds/sports: Canon 55-250 4-5.6 ($250)
If you want the same range as the kit lens, check out Sigma for a zoom with similar range, the Canon variants are way out of your price range
