Yeah, everyone wants to have the commo rose added, and getting rid of the BC2 style red triangle over spotted targets.

Overall the game was fun. There were a lot of bugs, but thats just Alpha for you.M.O.A.B wrote:

Any Alpha testers on the forum that can report back ... anything?
I was invited but unable to attend
Movement is slicker than BF2 or BC.
I want to see the following:
1. 3D spotting needs to be removed. It doesnt work in BF3. Everyone just shoots at triangles.
2. Weapons need more recoil\deviation at long range, which is part of the 3d spotting issues.
3. Commo Rose NEEDS TO BE IN GAME
4. Squad leader should be able to set waypoints\rally points on mimimap
5. Vehicle health regeneration needs to be removed.
6. Player Health regeneration needs to be removed.
The movement is very fluid when you werent hindered by some of the bugs.. Animations are great. Sounds design was FANTASTIC. Graphics will be great on the beta\release. Rush mode still sucks... Destruction seems toned down from BC2, but will need to see how it translates to larger maps\other maps.
Way damn too many invisible walls. And I'm gonna miss GL lumberjacking and demolishing.
eh, that was alpha. I think it was downed trees that the trunks failed to render. But still, that would mean that vaulting or walking over a tree on the ground is broken too.Ilocano wrote:

well, unlike you I actually played the two in tandem instead of going on half baked memories from five years ago. Played an hour of the alpha, then played some BF2 for reference. The movement is faster and navigating around objects is a lot easier.coolstorybro wrote:

Played some BC2 recently and you almost feel restricted by the movement in comparison. BF3's movement is far more in line with BF2's than BCs, but much smoother and accessible.SonderKommando wrote:

Freedom of movement in bf2 1.00 was the best, idk why people like infantry movement to be so slow and limited in games like COD and bad company. BF3 looks like its following this trend.
it feels like you are gliding over the ground in bf2.coolstorybro wrote:

slow movement is the new vogue in games
compare quake/HL to modern games and you'll see that
yea its hard going between the two.RTHKI wrote:

People miss running and jumping through an open area and not getting killed by guns or vehicle rounds.SonderKommando wrote:

Well, I do too. Thats why I want 3d spotting removed from bf3 and the accuracy adjusted at longer range.Ilocano wrote:

No, but I do miss shooting from behind cover and actually being covered. And I also miss not getting killed by a guy spraying his gun from 200 meters away.Ilocano wrote:

BF2's guns did have too much deviation, but it was still much better than having no deviation at all like most games today.
BF2 had too much deviation? Excuse me, but when's the last time you've played BF2 or fired a real weapon? I never had to use iron sights in BF2.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

e* I'll agree about the LMGs though, crouching or standing they're fine, but no LMG is that unaccurate when prone after a couple of rounds.

And above your tomb, the stars will belong to us.
I last played BF2 yesterday. And real world performance of wepon has no real impact on how wepon should be in a video game.-Sh1fty- wrote:
