i love marigolds. every year i throw a few seeds down in the big pots and a few months later i got big flowers surrounding them.

threw a few morning glory seeds down (saved them from the plants i grew last year) earlier this year and they're taking off and vining around everything lol.

We planted some Morning Glory near our fence three years ago...every year it grows a little further along our fence.  I can't wait for it to cover it completely.

I have a row of Lilacs bushes that are in there 4th year now. First two years were touch and go. Kyppa used to bite them to pieces during the winter.  Look daddy! I made a stick..lol. Nowadays the 6 of them are doing well.

that's awesome, i wish i planted more along the house to grow around stuff.

do you guys water it or let rainfall do it's thing? out here we have to water cause it's so dry. although like 15 years ago my uncle planted wildflower seed mix around the gate that comes back year and we hardly water it besides a bit here and there during summer.

Nope, we don't water it.  Sounds silly, but I don't really believe in having to water your lawn/flower garden on a regular basis.  Seems like such a waste to me.  Of course, we typically have a climate that doesn't get too dry.  The only thing I make the effort to water is when we plant veggies in our back yard.  Other than that, if it isn't tuff enough to grow in the conditions nature has provided then I don't want it.

Oh Kyppa!

I have an irrational fear of the hordes of bees that lilacs seem to attract or else I would love to have some in my yard. We actually cut one down when we moved in because it was half dead and all mangled.  Those stumps get as thick as trees.
