everyone was encouraged to wear dark formal attire. the gowns have like chocolate/gold details on the back for the BA's. a few people went in grey. a few in pinstripe. adventurous motherfuckers wore waistcoasts. but mostly all dark, yeah. we had a formal procession around the building and into the chapel and picture gallery, accompanied by a choir and honorary fellows and shit. so it's very serious. batman at the very least. i woulda liked to just chill in a casual blazer and oxford shirt, too, certainly would have been more comfortable and woulda brought my core-temps down by about 10 degrees c.

the princess chancellor also had like 5 of these windsor guards that were playing bugles or brass instruments w/ little flags hanging from them of some description with massive cavalry helmets and they were marching around and all sorts of shit. it was cool. definite hogwarts vibe at roho.

I like slim fit, but thats probably because it suits me well with my build.
There were no rules I remember, smart attire only. My fellow graduates kept asking if I'd read the rules "yup, just says smart, gowns optional".

gowns are NOT optional here (nor is formal dress) and they cost about £40 for the day to rent. buying them cost like £250! like who is ever going to wear a grad gown in their life outside of a ceremony.
