complextro? never use that term again. amon tobin's earlier stuff is way better. the new album is over-done and has way too much in it. he should have stuck to his earlier, organic IDM. it no longer sounds organic and natural... it sounds like he's thrown everything in the blender, and it has the opposite effect on his craft: instead of admiring the hard-work and attention to detail, you're bemused by it. i thought it was a rotten listen... especially all the bass elements.
Agreed man, but it's nice to see him expanding and trying out new shit. That's what being an artist is all about I guess. Gonna be interesting to see what kind of things he'll be doing next, or in fact any of the minimalistic/electronica scene.

*Fucking BBCode, how do they work?

i can just imagine erykah badu's vocals laced over floating point's mellow beats, wowsers. fatima's vocals are pretty solid, but her voice goes flat at times

taking it over auto-tune for sure.

nice track, bouncy but extremely laid back.

edit: didn't realise you were comparing two similar singers, my bad.

zach hill from hella (and also wavves) brings his drumming madness to hip-hop.

if you're partial to (deep) house music or have had your curiosities roused by the recent house-crossovers into all strains of bass, garage and dubstep, then look no further this summer than the back-catalogues of Dial records (or its Laid imprint).

house music doesn't get much more sweet than this

just out of interest, do you own a hi-fi with a record player? Was wanting to invest at some point... some of those tracks you've submitted over the last few pages really use that last low octave, that only really comes out through vinyl. Just wondering

at home i have a b&o hi-fi but mostly just use with nice earphones and/or a decently balanced and eq'd 2.1 system when at university.

would recommend vinyl + amp + speakers, ofc

deadbeat's new LP 'drawn and quartered' is an impressive addition to this year's list of mind and genre defying dub techno.

do not miss this, especially if you enjoyed andy stott's dark and subversive piece earlier this year:

i fucking love it, personally.

cbf to make a new thread.

But anyway, this is my brothers new band guys.

If you are a fan of old school punk then you will probably like these guys. They have recently signed a record deal and are touring Japan later this year supporting"The Casualties".

I know it's kind of lame that you have to pay for it so feel free to tell me to fuck off, but it would be great if you could support a new Aussie band.

Tune, how do you guys discover artists and tracks? I just find I don't have the time to do it, thus I find music to be frustrating in that way because I know there's a lot of shit out there that's to my taste, but the thought of never coming across it is annoying. I mean just sifting through the 2 threads in here I've found artists and tracks that Ive gone onto purchase, and really enjoyed listening to.

My best friend finds it amusing though, he's does music production in a studio in london, he's a music guru and he's always introducing to good stuff, that's not mainstream, some of which I saw in this thread funnily enough.
