Welcome back bf2s friends. Today we are going to discuss the back story of how the situation of Armored Fury has come about. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, let me enlighten you. There was a thread made some time ago about the "fictional history of BF2". In this article, a forum user who's name I cannot remember went through the trouble of writing up a mock history of events that led up to the BF2 conflict. It pretty much involved Bush fucking things up....repeatedly, but that’s beside the point. What we are here for today is the history of Armored Fury.
Now, let’s get to business shall we?
June 2007 (Insert sound from Law and Order)
The Chinese in a move to capture important Pacific resources from the United States attack and capture Wake Island, a small island used by the American's as a supply and fuel depot and as a stop over airstrip for cross Pacific flights. The victory came easier than expected as the Chinese found the island defended only by a cook and a female flight attendant. In the following days the American's planned and co-ordinated a counter-attack on the island. Planning took only three days and the operation codenamed "Operation Stink Finger" was launched in the early hours of June 17th. The plan consisted of the American Fleet (a.k.a The Essex) docking within sight and range of the island. Shortly after the Americans were to take control of a small and "strategically important" island in the middle of the lagoon. While this was happening the American F-35 pilots were to circle the island and destroy all ground assets and eliminate the Chinese Air Force stationed on the island.
Much to the American's dismay the Operation was a total failure. Bad things happened from the start when a Cobra helicopter had a mid-air collision with an F-35 and ended up killing half the Airborne landing party. The other F-35 that managed to take off was quickly downed by a stray missile fired by a Chinese J-10 that was on patrol 5 miles away, monitoring dolphin movements on the East side of the Island. With all air superiority lost, the American's had little choice but to proceed to the island by rubber boats. As the American's soon found out, rubber boats do not react well with bullets and the entire landing party was sunk. The only thing left to do was for the Essex to retreat to safe waters and regroup, but unfortunately a single Chinese sniper with a L96A1 had managed to secure the entire boat and drive away. The remaining Americans were systematically eliminated on the small island. This marked one of the worst defeats since Custer in the American military.
August 2007
Chinese forces equipped with their new Carrier sail east to the borders of Alaska where they hope to get a foothold on American soil. The operation codenamed "Made in China" took weeks of planning and was set to kick off in the early hours of the morning of August 9th. The plan consisted of 2 J-10 fighter planes killing everything that had a pulse and then 30 minutes after 0 hour, the land force would simply walk ashore.
It.....well it pretty much worked. The only casualties were from an AA accident involving a transport chopper full of people. The J-10 ended up killing the other plane so the Chinese played this off as a minor and "unfortunate" accident. All the lost souls pressed the PgUp key in forgiveness.
November 2007
MEC forces, noticing the recent slack of American pressure and eyeing the Chinese success in the East decide to bypass the Americans on their homeland by leaving a minimal force to defend and sending the bulk of their forces to attack the American Eastern Seaboard to effectively build a second front on American soil. The plan was cut short when the MEC army realized their navy consisted of 3 rubber boats. Persistent none the less, the MEC army devised a plan to move West by land until they reached the Egyptian port of Suez from which they would hijack a Super Oil Tanker and use it to ferry their entire army to Washington D.C. By the end of November the bulk of the MEC team had reached the port and had secured an oil tanker called the "Crusty Martha".
December 2007
Chinese forces manage to sweep a path down to Southern California, effectively eliminating the American Western seaboard. However, Chinese forces soon realized what a mistake they had made when they entered the suburbs of a town called Compton on the outskirts of L.A. Chinese casualties were massive, in one incident only 2 soldiers out of an extermination squad of 400 made it out alive. The two survivors called the locals "Chi shiek wong ton ping muushue tso dragons" which translated means "Angry Black people". With the Chinese invasion force cut down by 1/3, they decide to bypass and head east by capturing parts of Arizona and Nevada, but once again their push was slowed when half of the Chinese force contracted herpes from a hooker in Las Vegas, effectively derailing the push for the next three months while they waited for the generic Chinese form of Valtrex to arrive.
March 2008
MEC forces finally arrive in Washington D.C. after a grueling 2 month ordeal on the open seas which involved being hijacked by Somalian Pirates and a nasty Flu bug. Now that the MEC army was in Washington they decide it best to wait until the Chinese push again and most of the military moves West to defend, then they take over the lightly defended city. But what to do until then? Some get jobs as taxi drivers, some as convenient store workers and some even as janitors. Anything to pass the time. Only one problem that wouldn't be noticed until June...........................
Meanwhile in Nevada, the Chinese have finally gotten their medication and decide to rest and regroup for about a month before making the third push into the Mid-West. Unfortunately for the Chinese, the harsh environment was taking a toll. Between the herpes, getting beat up by gang member and losing all their money in the casinos, they we're all now starting to realize that they had forgotten one very important part of their military that they would need for the next push.
