bevo lit major or not the blacks aren't meant to be typed on. they're seldom used and are very heavy and resistant.

cherry mx brown are the best all rounds

I did take a look at some of the browns, but the only one that really appealed was the das silent. Like I said, I dunno, I've never had the opportunity to the test the differences between all these switches so I'm just winging it from my chair. If these blacks destroy my lady fingers what board would you suggest that has browns in it?

the zowie celeritas and the filco majestouch are reputed to be the best all round boards, i.e. browns, but both can be difficult to get hold of.

the das is great for typing exclusively but does almost nothing else to that end-- not even media keys.

you're going to struggle to find any other decent boards with browns other than the two aforementioned.

there's always the blues, too, i.e. the razer offerings and whatnot. they're not bad and can certainly be adjusted to for gaming (even though they actuate half-way through the keypress).

always avoid the reds. avoid like the plague.

i wouldn't ever bother with reds, the clears looked pretty good too but impossible to find. Not gonna touch blues either, part of the reason I chose the blacks initially was the lack of click. Too bloody loud and the mechanics of them seem suboptimal for games.

Damn, the hell are you doing? I run 2-3 games, opera with 5-8 tabs, photoshop and sony vegas is open all the time, and I'm barely using up my 4GB.

3 browser with at least 15 tabs open in each, Songbird, Outlook, Textual, Photoshop with files exceeding 15MB opened (at least 2), Illustrator, Skype, Coda, Transmit.... It adds to a hell of a lot more than what you are running.
