I give Fight Club an 8. My favorite movie sure. Different and unique? Yes. But fantastic? No. Battle: LA is no fight club.

American Psycho

District 9
A solid 8, good fun to watch.
Seen them both before, thought I'd watch them again cause they're both great. Recommend both highly.

No, I loved Fight Club when it different and unique the first time, and called Primal Fear.Uzique wrote:

Why because Ed Norton was in them both? That's about the extent of your comparison.HITNRUNXX wrote:

plus every single novel (and subsequent film adaptation) of that period was "different and unique". it was the fucking young-brat 90's.

Because after loving Edward Norton in Primal Fear, we all figured out the "twist" of Fight Club so early in the movie that is became a sit and wait and hope we are mistaken so we can still be surprised type of thing. One of the most overrated over-hyped movies of all time in my opinion.Kmar wrote:

Just because it is "different and unique" doesn't make it good.
Just because it is topic/scenario a lot of movies have covered doesn't make it bad.
There are only so many existing formulas for movies.
Everyone has their own opinions.
i hope you're not trying to infer that the plot twist of fight club was plagiarized from primal fear. have you read the books?
everyone has their own opinions, yes, it's just that your's are mostly wrong.

Why are you acting like youre a proffesional movie critic ( a bad one by the way) towards fight club , while you gave Battle:LA an 8/10?
That is my point. Why does everyone have to tell me how wrong I am because *I* like Battle Los Angeles?Kampframmer wrote:

story of my life
Movie critics generally suck. Sometimes it's because of bias.
I personally enjoyed Battle LA, too. I now have seen it 3 times, including when I saw it at the theaters.HITNRUNXX wrote:

No Escape and Surviving the Game
Each gets a 4/10 simply for nostalgia reasons. Saw them both as a kid, and, well, they lived up to my poor expectations but kind of disappointed at the same time. They're just crappy 90s throwaway movies that I saw on Netflix and figured I'd rewatch.

I Love You, Beth Cooper - 2/10
Didn't even finish it but it sucked. Only good thing about it was the chicks were hot.

Yes everyone has their own opinion. I'm saying I don't get yours at all. Spoiler (highlight to read):HITNRUNXX wrote:

The twist was almost the exact opposite in each movie. In Primal fear the mental disorder was a fabrication used to get a stuttering choir boy off of a murder wrap. In Fight club the mental disorder was genuine.
Primal Fear was a courtroom thriller. Fight Club was centered around the development of an anti-social cult. A cult that plots and carries out "terrorist" acts. The twists were different in each movie.
Your interpretations are extremely shallow. In my opinion.
