I recently saw a Toshiba at JB Hifi. i7, 4ghz of RAM, GT540 (not the best I know, but for a laptop...) and a 750gb HDD. $1,297 or something.
$1,800 should get you something kickarse.
Nothing but consoles can.Cheez wrote:

So, in the market for a new gaming laptop, where would everyone recommend? I'm looking at some of the Asus on Umart, pretty snazzy for $1800. BTW budget is up to $2000, and good enough for BF3.

Just buy it online from the US.

With Intel coming out with their new CPUs soon as well I wouldn't be so sure on AMD dominanceCheez wrote:
Integrated HD5/6 series, too. Makes Sandy Bridge look like an iPad.
That chip will be about $50 more than US at this point. Parts prices in Aus are quite fair now.Jaekus wrote:

If it fucks up, RMA it with AMD. I've done it before with no paperwork, just the serial. Got a replacement a week later, free of charge (minus the postage to Singapore).
With the dollar the way it is you should pick it up for around $300 AU, plus postage of course.
