Will definitely piss off snipers.

Hm, the suppression looks really interesting. This might give it a nice twist, if they balance it right.
Yeah but Squad Leaders are back, so I presume you can only spawn on them, as in BF2.Doctor Strangelove wrote:
A Six person squad would be way to OP. That's five people too spawn on.Pure_Beef_68 wrote:

Squad leaders will have a "kill me first" sign over them.
Sadly game just looks to me like huge scale BFBC2
we have only seen one map and some single player. I would say its much to early to make any sort of judgement on the game.twoblacklines wrote:

Here's to being hopeful.

Works better this way. In BF2 the squad leader was shit. The most effective ones avoided combat and any situations that scored them points, which isn't a good design. Also a shitty squad leader ruined it for the guns not in his squad. Especially bad if the SL was in a vehicle without an empty seat.
I think it'll be the demonchild of BC2 and BF2 with a little MW2 and DoD:S thrown in.Superior Mind wrote:

eg it could be great, or horrible, or... most likely... just another average modern warfare shooter... BC3 some may call it, CoD-bastardized BF2 others may call it.
I would like to see some sort of beacon again, like 2142 had it. It gave the squadleader more freedom and rewarded with points if deployed. I think PR uses a similar system (without the cocoons dropping from the sky)?Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Yeah, PR has those forward spawn points, depicted by a pile of sandbags and some ammo bags, IIRC.Sisco wrote:

Not sure who deploys them.
Not anymore. Rally Points (deployed by the SL when he has one member within 10m) only last 60 seconds and are intended to be a short respawn to regroup the squad, firebases (FO's) (whole team spawnable) can be built by squads and require supply crates, and are more of a long term option.globefish23 wrote:

i liked the old rally point system, now with the firebases you have to walk so much.....Acreta wrote:

If you're walking a stupidly long distance, you aren't playing the game properly. Good squad leaders constantly have a rally point available for their members in the event that the squad has to regroup, or a firebase close to the objective they're attacking.
I do agree though, the old system was better. The devs argued that it meant that squads were 'trickling' off the rally points and attacking one by one as opposed to a single cohesive unit, which was often the case.
For those who want a more realistic alternative (while still being fun) check out PR @ realitymod.com.

The rally points were great, but once again the PR community is willing to sacrifice fun for reality - which is a shame. Even with RP's there was a tonne of walking, now they disappear after 60 secs it means you could be trekking for 10 mins before you find your squad.Acreta wrote:

They're really sticking it to CoD, serves them right for making such a fucking horrid MW2 expansion.
Haha seriously? How dumb does he think they are? Yes we're gonna let our main competitor have an inside preview look of our flagship product whilst it's in development. Very smart business strategy.
The paradox is only a conflict between reality and your feeling what reality ought to be.

BF3 is not balanced for dickheads.
lol that's pretty funny. Not sure why his PA would be so pissed, it's pretty obvious why they said no.
well, it feels a lot more real when youre crouching/standing. BUt it would be annoying if there wasnt a way to get it steady.dtacs wrote:
Not happy about sniper scope sway though.
