"I'm siiingin' in the raain..."

By the interviews, it was pretty expensive to license that song for the few seconds it was sung.

Juust saw a trailer for the US remake of the Aussie show 'Wilfred.' Looked it up on wiki. After learning more about the show, I'm still confused.

WHY was Elijah Wood licked on the face by another man?

It was sung because it was all that he knew how to sing.

Alex performing "Singing in the Rain" as he attacks the writer and his wife was not scripted. Stanley Kubrick spent four days experimenting with this scene, finding it too conventional. Eventually he approached Malcolm McDowell and asked him if he could dance. They tried the scene again, this time with McDowell dancing and singing the only song he could remember. Kubrick was so amused that he swiftly bought the rights to "Singing in the Rain" for $10,000.

Yes, that was the number. Pretty much explains that in the video interviews.

I love this one.
It surely has a lot of baysplosions, a thin story and quirky characters but it all fits together well. It´s a clear black&white hero story, one that not only reaches for that lust for uncomplicated entertainment but also to my childhood memories of how awesome Transformers were.
Haters gonna hate.

They should have made Transformers more like Pixar's Cars...a movie without people. They completely hijacked giant robots with some irrelevant story of some kids we care nothing about to what? Make the movie more relatable? Everyone came to watch giant robots punch each other, not to watch the camera pan between gaping humans (with whom we get to watch the giant meaty faces of for most of the film) and, only when they couldn't figure out how to show more teenage angst, garbled, unrecognizable closeups of ACTUAL giant robots for the remaining part. Oh, and don't forget the product placement. Way to scratch at the fourth wall, movie.

Anyone here seen the Tree of Life?

Its supposed to be really good.  Made by the guy who made The Thin Red Line.  I thought that movie was a little too artistic, almost to the point of being disoriented, but I really liked the metaphysical/emotional stuff that went in to it.  It was boring, but beautiful.

ps.  I'd rather spend money on this and be disappointed than spend money on some forgettable piece of trash Michael Bay wrote while he was taking a shit

This was my only problem with the first Transformers movie. I could never really tell what was going on in the action, because the camera was zoomed so far up Optimus's butt that blurry motion and an occasional limb were all you could really see during most of the fighting. Oh, did he kick him? Cause he just flew off camera and bounced down the street...

Otherwise, I enjoyed the first one.

The second one was horrible, in my opinion... And apparently (According to a lot of interviews I read from Bay at the time he was making it) it was on purpose, because he was mad over the whole Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD debacle.

Very good movie by Tom Tykwer about the involvement of banks in wars, arms trafficking and manipulation of politics.
I liked the cast, where none of the main roles stands out too much, and where all the minor roles have a good character building as well, as opposed to just saying a generic line.
Plus, I like movies that are set in contemporary European locations.

Good film, nice, simple story and some bad-ass Jason Statham.

Perhaps too bad-ass, though. It becomes too unrealistic at a certain point... But I enjoyed it

7-10.

I'm starting to really admire Pacino now, he really is very, very talented. A very good script and if you can watch a film that doesn't have people throwing out drop kicks and shooting pistols at each other every 5 minutes you will probably enjoy this. I stumbled on it by a stroke of luck as it was one of the few DVD's at the apartment I stayed at on holiday.

Blake: What's the problem, pal?
Dave Moss: You -
[correcting him]
Dave Moss: Moss. You're such a hero, you're so rich, how come you're coming down here wasting your time with such a bunch of bums?
Blake: You see this watch? You see this watch?
Dave Moss: Yeah.
Blake: That watch costs more than you car. I made $970,000 last year. How much you make? You see pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Nice guy? I don't give a shit. Good father? Fuck you! Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here - close! You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you cocksucker? You can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit? You don't like it, leave.
