deerhunter were fucking incredible last night. one of the best live shows i've been to. the atmosphere and the walls of sound they create with such a simple set-up is amazing. bradford cox is one of the most enigmatic and yet charismatic frontmen of any band i have seen live, period. the way the stage lighting at shepherd's bush lit him up made him like like a phantom. amazing atmosphere and the crowd were pretty much delirious by the end of the set. top top class shoegaze. in a league of their own, really, when it comes to full-on live experiences.

It was a bit of a letdown coming off of the spectacular LCD Soundsystem show... only an hour and a half setlist. However, still a sick concert and it's not really fair to compare them to a band that was obviously going all out as they were retiring. This concert absolutely made me realize that it's general admission area or nothing from now on, unless it's someone from the Classic Rock genre. Everyone was standing and going crazy of course, but it's just not the same unless you're in the pit. That's the way you experience a band like this. Fantastic show... definitely going to see them if they come to a smaller venue soon. Elvis Costello showing up was also absolutely crazy. Totally unexpected.

he did come up the stairs near us before the encore though and drunkenly said something about deerhunter being good

Saw streetlight manifesto tonight with a couple of friends. I'm normally not into ska, punk or any sort of moshing, but they were awesome and so was the crowd. Had an amazzzzzing time.

Reminds me of a physics teacher my mate had when we were like 17 (I didn't take his class but had met him enough times at school). We both could get into places without ID and on occasion would see him drunk at the bar, he'd buy us a drink lol.

This is the best music festival you're going to get in Australia. No one wants to come to Australia.
But yeah, it is pretty expensive. (Tickets are only $500, but getting there, food etc.)
