i'm basically treating them like bookmarks that remember the page I was last on on that site

dont they stay when i close the browser? i thought that was the point?  because if so, making my pinned - and likely most used tabs - 1/10th the size of regular tabs is kinda ridiculous

Is there not an option to set your home page to multiple tabs? (I know there is in ff)

i see your point. i don't find the size to be a problem at all, though

you could use the feature to set a bunch of tabs to open up automatically when you start the browser, but i guess that's not quite the same

hmm, it also breaks what little tab grouping chrome has when you open a new tab.  yeah, wont be using this feature ever again.  chrome really needs something like ff's tree style tabs

so if you want your favourite site to open on page "x" today and not on the main page you make another bookmark? And then another for page "z"?

Love it, been using Chrome since version 4.  Although i've been using the Dev build instead of the regular releases for a while.  It has the occasional crash and or freeze up, but otherwise its a good browser.  I just wish Flash worked better.   The HTML 5 player sucks.  Its slow to load for me and only comes in 2 resolutions.(360p, 720p)

Note on pinned tabs.

If you open a new windows, and then close the window with the pinned tabs. Your pinned tabs are forgotten forever.

Maybe they should modify the "open these tabs when you start chrome" to include automatically re-opening pinned tabs.

Actually I'm not sure that really fixes the problem ...

Perhaps the pinned tabs should jump to the new window when you close the old one.

Misunderstood what you meant.

But that happens on every browser, as it thinks the new window is the default one. Sort of makes sense. I guess you're right that pinned tabs should be on every window. That would be pretty cool.

Yeh I tried pinned tabs and they were less useful to me than my speed dial setup. I typed a url into one of them and it saved that new url as the pinned tab and forgot the old one. If it was more like 'favourite tabs that open on startup' it would have been what I was after but even then the slight  reduction in time it took to quickly open the browser and check something wasnt worth it for (in my view) minor convenience.

You seem to have missed the part about me using the Dev build.  Thats 2 builds beyond the stable release.
