I guess people are more emotional about it since it's so close to home, how many times have we sat back and did nothing? I still don't get why Gadaffi is considered a genocidal maniac which we need to stop after killing 1500 people, yet when Saddam killed 2 million over the course of 10 years and the invasion began literally everyone was opposed to the war.

Same here really.  All we can go off without researching is what the TV shows us.  Other than watching a load of women and kids in green Burka's (or whatever) singing and dancing praising CG saying they 'love him', we aint going to know.  I suppose I can only speak for myself but Im probably no differen't that Camm on it.  I always try to sit on the fence and keep an open mind but you can only go off what your told.

Ideally this no fly zone would have enabled the people to come out and protest at the regime without getting fucked up like they were. But the Gaddafi regime has made it clear loads of times that they'll never let a protest happen peacefully, they'll call a ceasefire. But they'll either lie or they will still start shooting at protesters insisting that protesting is somehow breaking the ceasefire. It's already been made clear that they won't be able to get what they want by just protesting, like what happened in Egypt.

As to why Libya and not anyone else (or not doing Iraq) Geography played an important part in it, as did the scale of the backlash the protesters were getting and the numbers of them compared to the regime they were protesting against. Yeah it's happening in some other countries, but not on the scale in Libya

tbh i don't particularly blame them. I don't endorse doing it that way, but they are MERCENARIES brought in to fight for an unpopular dictator because he doesn't have enough loyal troops. If you read the caption, you'd see it says that the mercenaries rape and murder the libyan population.

I did read the caption. They are also the same mercenaries that are making a profit supplying weapons to the rebels.

Mercenaries is green collar business, hanging a man upside down naked and beheading him and hacking at his face infront of a crowd of people cheering and filming it on their cameras is barbaric. Anyone who says it is justified because they are mercenaries is barbaric. I can remember when it first began on the news the rebels were showing some captured policeman, but said they wouldn't execute them like the monster Gaddafi, they would release them.

No. You can't justify that. There is no excuse for what they are doing. Just have a look over liveleak there are videos all over it of the rebels desecrating dead soldiers bodies, parading them around town and dragging them behind cars.

These guys aren't people to support, they are monsters.
