Same goes double for the wolves, if they manage to delist them again.

Part of the reason for picking the 300 WSM is that it can actually do about everything I'd be interested in.
130 gr Barnes TSX at 3750 fps for varmints,
168 gr Berger VLD-Hunting at 3375 for deer and such,
210 gr Berger (or 208 Hornady A-Max) at 2910 for long range.

Though, going over my load development notes, the 168gr rounds have the lowest 1000 yard drops (225"), within 15% of the lowest 10mph wind drifts (67" @10mph), highest initial kinetic energy (4228 ft lbs), and roughly tie the 210gr bullets for repeatable velocities (±2 fps @ 6 rounds). 

Conventional wisdom would select the 210 gr for long range accuracy, due to "obviously superior wind drift and energy retention".

Dunno... have to play with it a bit more to figure out which one is the default cartridge for this rifle;
210 Berger BT (non-VLD), 2927fps ±3, 264" drop@1000, 56" drift@10mph, ≈3994 ft lbs
168 Hornady A-Max, 3384fps ±1, 231" drop@1000, 71" drift@10mph, ≈4271 ft lbs
168 Berger (non-VLD), 3367fps ±2, 225" drop@1000, 67" drift @10mph, ≈4228 ft lbs

(Yes, screwing around with load development is fun... for some people.  This is the kind of shit engineering types are thinking of on their off days.  Okay, we think about nice cold beer also - then we get all face-first Sciency™ figuring out how to brew a better batch of that too)

I do have a 9mm Colt Government Model though

I took the P2000 out today. Man it shoots good. I've been giving the USP 45 too much attention and decided to blast some 9mm. I put one of the large back straps on and it. Fits my hand like a glove.

Ordered some USP Tactical night sights and a USP Tactical 45 threaded barrel. Now I need a can.

Made a shiny new grip for my 7.62, more in the Russian style - ie higher and more angled.

Now if I could just shoot like that every day...
