dude if you're stood around in the sun all day, you're going to get fucking hungry and thirsty.

if you sat on your ass for the same amount of time as a cricket match/test match, you'd get hungry too- no?

you're being so fucking stupid.

oh thats a pretty impressive building, ive always kinda stayed away since i was told it was a grad student building

i dont know, i feel like its just going on all the time, its really irritating.  hutton doesnt seem bad for it compared to some other houses though - ie taylor, jai-ho, all of whitney.  the location i can agree on and will miss, but fung is disgusting.  i hate eating there so much

probably move in with people, havent really worked anything out yet except talked to a few about ideas
Agreed. Fung is nearly as bad as it gets. Only place worse is New College, me thinks, although I haven't dined at all of the colleges. Chestnut is easily the best; full hotel staff preparing their meal

Hopefully you find a place somewhere in the student ghetto (south of college, north of Dundas, east of Spadina, west of University). Whatever you do don't get suckered into a place north of Bloor. The distance from campus may be roughly the same, but the nuisance of frat parties make it nearly unlivable. I know a few people who made the mistake last year and some of them were looking to bail even before the end of first semester. I guess it all depends on how quiet you like it to be when you sleep.
Very much agreed, Chestnut is amazing.

Hmm, I never considered that.  Good point though, I guess I didnt think about it since I keep away from the frats.  Maybe it depends where you are since I know a few people with places up there.
I'm sure there are areas north of Bloor that are quieter, but they're also likely much farther from campus. I'm sure you'll figure out what you're looking for once you know who you're living with.

Invite me to the house warming party. I'll bring the beer bong. Promise.

Do they actually still do that? It seems like something they'd have done in the 60's, but these days they'd just have a Red Bull and a Mars bar.

Which university are you attending next year? Or do you still have a year of HS left to go?

Hey Pochsy!

uh, i'm applied at Mcmaster, York, Ryerson, UofT (St. Georges & UTM) and Laurier... all for business administration.

I finished my first semester with an 83% average, well within the admission ranges for these programs, yet no acceptances so far. I'm pretty sure it's because my marks last year were shit, and that I didn't have grade 12 English first semester. Going to have to wait till April then, it's actually really depressing

Very nice. Rotman School of Business here at U of T is the strongest of the programs listed, I think. If you end up at St. George we'll go clubbing sometime.

I'm sure you'll get in! Early admissions are only for those who score 85% or higher at most schools. I don't think grade 11 marks really matter. I scored like 80% grade 11, and 94% grade 12 and still got the early admissions.

Grade 11 marks don't matter, but they do get you early admissions as you said. I just want a few admissions to relieve this pressure haha. I heard the competition down town is very hard!

i dont really know about business, but 83 should bring you pretty close.  you still have 2-3 major rounds of acceptances to go!

It's a very competitive school, yes. Academics are top priority for the majority of students, and I would imagine that to be even more so the case in the business school where there are a significant number of international students. Most internationals are from China, and they eat sleep and breathe school work.

As soon as you get your acceptances you'll start worrying about losing your spot of your grades slip! It'll likely be a 75% to hold your spot.

McMaster has nearly as many internationals as U of T.

Like I said, I'm sure you'll be fine with an 83%. Have you already taken the subjects that are harder for yourself? If so you've got nothing to worry about!

i think my semester's are equally as difficult as the other. last year a lot of students took economics and did really well, so i took it as well. little did i know that at the end of first semester the economics teacher switched... to this guy:

mike alias.

first of all, what the fuck.
second, he's a hard marker... so i'm going to have to work for this mark now.
i also have calculus & vectors which i'm gonna have to work for too.

ugh

Is Mr Alias a control freak? I can imagine having a wrestler as a teacher being like boot camp.

You're second semester marks are hardly as important as the first unless you're aiming for scholarships, anyways. They don't even have your second semester marks when they admit you. They only matter for holding your place at the school, and that's not difficult.
