It's more than likely clogged... if I'm not mistaken you can have a shop flush it out for very cheap.

EDIT - Nvm, if its cracked, its pointless.

i had a pressure test done on it, because i thought it mightve been clogged and i was praying to god that it wasnt the goddamn heatercore, but it was. My car is a 20 year old volvo 240, so it makes sense i guess.

yeah they said it would cost me around $900. And i have looked up how to do it, and there are some pretty detailed guides on how to. However, i dont have 900 bucks laying around, and i dont have the time/ heated garage to do it.

No sir, you are mistaken... Volvo 240's are indeed so strong they are considered to be the strongest material known to man

i got backed into at a gas station about 2 years ago, this fat bitch put a dent the size of a basketball in my corner panel, her bumper and rear tail light assembly were completely gone lol.

if theyre the strongest material, shouldnt we make plaes out of 240s?

Close garage and buy space heater / portable heater for profit.
Also, the part itself shouldn't be $900 - that probably includes labor which they always charge out the ass for.

Planes?
That sadly will not work since each 240 is as aerodynamic as a parachute and as heavy as, well, a Volvo...

Plates?
That sadly will not work either since a plate of 240s will only be as strong as the material used to connect each 240

yeah, its for the labor. and yes, labor prices are usually way too high, but its a labor intensive repair. and ill look into some space heaters, not a bad idea.

be sure they check for electrolysis.  If your cooling system is electrically compromised you'll burn through that brand new core in about a month.
