I just made a cable that makes connection between an MP3 player with a minijack output and an amp with balanced input possible. I'm very happy with the result.

Why on earth is it un-shielded the last ten centimetres?
the 1k€ HD800 has an unshielded cable at the Y split. Shielding is not needed as there are no objects that would cause interference. And can you talk normal or do you have to act like a jerk all the time?
A set of headphones don't need shielding as much as other "devices" in the system. The input of an amplifier is a lot more sensitive toward interference than a set of headphones, since it has a hundred times higher input impedance.

Additionally, you do have interference in your listening room. I guarantee. You need to build a Faraday cage around it and run everything on DC for there not to be. Forget having a computer in there.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

So you're saying there is interference I don't hear? Because I can't hear it man. There are lots of cables made exactly like mine selling for 100 of euros. There is no interference this cable carries. Btw HD800 are very sensitive. If there was any interference I would hear it.

If you can't hear any interference through that cable, it's down to nothing but luck. If you were to use that cable in a noisier environment, it'd pick up interference like an antenna. If you were to put that cable and a properly shielded one through the GSM test, there'd be no question about it.

Giving credit to an audiophile scam company doesn't exactly make you look more credible. If anything, it makes you look more gullible.

No, you eat an apple, claiming it to be an orange. I prove to you that it is indeed an apple, but you insist on it being an orange.

Then you get angry.

K702 balanced rewiring, with cable and SE adapter to match. $40 total, which I can't say includes the amp quite yet..

So like everyones always like "don't run through wires/pipes lolololol".

How the fuck do you know if there's shit like that inside your wall? I just drilled 6 holes and had adrenaline throughout. Now I've gotta drill some more like 3 feet above a plug socket and I have no idea what to do.

You need to get a sensor, that will detect metal and electric current, go B&Q or something.

Above the socket is where the wires are. If you wan't to have some fun then go ahead.  Electrical wires always go up vertically from the socket or horizontally, never diagonally, that is if they are installed correctly.

I had an after-market cable but it was heavy and stiff. I'm really happy with the result. Pads are not on the photos as they are being dried after I have washed them.
