I saw the Superbowl for the first time today. I had the general idea that I saw 1% of gameplay, 90% of commercials and 9% miscellaneous (commentary, players setting up on the field, etc.)

I was really disappointed, I do not see the appeal to this. Not to mention the opening songs were utter shit and having that woman sing the national anthem was a disgrace, not to mention she got it wrong. The half-time break was even worse.

But really, NFL is terrible, a bunch of guys line up with their bottoms in the air looking like a gay reenactment of a Spartan battle, everyone jumps on each other and nothing happens for the next ten minutes. What do you get, 15 seconds of play in the whole match?

Then everybody takes a few moments to get back up from their near-death collision and the referee yells a few things and they set up again and do that over.

Obviously my statement isn't entirely true, especially my time estimations, but I'm sure I've gotten the point across. I do realize that most sports are like this though.
