According to the TF2 Wiki, those abominations of weapons have special stats and are not mere skin replacements.
The supposedly will be craftable after the pre-order period for Rift is over.
I sure hope that those crafting recipes will be similar to the Polcount ones, and not something ridiculously high like the Polycount hats or the spooky axe.

I also count myself as one of those TF2 fans (and Valve for that matter) that have been trying to ignore these things as much as possible simply because I WANT to like it and them.
I'm really looking forward to Portal 2 mostly because I just want it to restore my faith in them.

Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me
Not to mention the Australian xmas which doubled the metal cost on crafting compared to polycount...globefish23 wrote:

And you blame Valve because you don't play the game?FloppY_ wrote:

I think you killed the game. And people like you who cared about hats and badges more than the game itself.
I think it's kind of funny how uzique was talking about this shit when the first class update came out and everybody else was happy valve was updating their game.
How does it matter if I idle or don't play?AussieReaper wrote:

As far as I'm concerned the class updates, on the whole, were great. There were a few annoyances but in general they added to the game.Miggle wrote:

Mann-Conomy onwards however is a different story.
class updates that added new gameplay mechanics which were genuinely good:
medic
class updates which added annoying as fuck sentry spam but were still pretty decent:
engineer
The rest all added gimmicks or weapons that compensated for shit players.

I think that's a bit unfair. With the exception of the Scout Update and the Sniper vs Spy Update, which both just made the game worse, fun was to be had with all of them. If not with the new items themselves (eg Heavy Update), then with the extras (like the Heavy Update's Arena mode).
There were gimmicks aplenty, but gimmicks can be awesome fun too (see: Chargin' Targe).

are you insinuating the targe is anywhere near the worth of the sticky launcher?
I think all he was saying is that it's fun to useStimey wrote:

The targe is clearly superior to the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker.
If not then it is clearly less superior.
Wait. No they are identical other than appearance.
Huh.

I believe you have the targe confused with EyelanderAussieReaper wrote:

And the HHHH cannot taunt-kill
