Thanks , saved me some google time. We get Cyclones every couple of years or so. This one was just much larger. Thing with the buildings in North Queensland is that they are usually subject to building codes that includes a certain amount of cyclone proofing. Most of the buildings that were destroyed were built before 1974 or so, and werent subject to these codes.
I think all of the planning in the world wouldnt fix a cyclone this big.
