I prefer the PKM, so much more accurate and powerful than MG36, IMO. Just can't get hang of MG36.

MG36 all the way. even on full auto is pretty accurate compared to other LMG.
I use both, prefer the MG36 though by far...
Type 95 LMG also gets some use, even if it is rather crap... I enjoy the challenge.

Same here when i see someone long distance i can pick away at em with the PKM and usually kill them, with the MG36 i get nowhere near killin them if they are a decent player!Shadow893 wrote:

Up close i do like the MG36 b/c its lighter and the faster reload but that's it!
I generally prefer the PKM. I've been using it since 1.12 and was happy with it back then. Even in 1.22 it's still more impressive than 1.12. The MG36 isn't bad when I've used it as SAS on the SF maps but I just prefer the PKM.
The MG36 feels like an assault rifle with a big magazine too be honest, but I guess that could be considered a good thing, and it has burst fire, which is pretty awesome for a support weapon, but IMHO the PKM is good for commander wear, you can defend your flag easily, since its an infantry destroyer.

You have got to admit that the MG36 loses it's accuracy far too quickly and goes to such a large shooting reticle that it can sometimes be impossible to hit someone. Also, for you RealLife fans, you can't find too much PKM ammunition around nowadays...maybe EA should limit it to one a team...the RPK-74 is the more modern weapon. However, the MG36 is the newest and being a RealLife supporter (but not zealous radical) I use that. Oh, and it's funny to kill a PKM'er with a MG36.

before the last patch i would have said pkm but now it's MG36 !
Since the latest patch, the Type 95 is now my fave LMG. It's now the best sniping LMG, and fairly accurate at run-n-gun.
MG36 hands down in alleyways. It's much faster, and in close quarters with multiple enemies, it's all about how much ammo you can throw at them before they drop you. The MG36 is much better at that than the PKM. With the PKM, sure, you do more damage but the trick there is actually hitting. The support kit is really the only kit that I approve highly of people using a "Spray and Pray" tactic with. That's what it's there for. So whatever gun you're choosing in that kit should have a good rate of fire.
The PKM is great if you're camping a location from a distance where your enemies have to line up a shot on you to hit you. If you can get the drop on people the damage is worth it.
Overall though, if I'm MEC, I take the RPK-74. Fantastic support gun with a (imho) perfect balance of speed and stopping power.
Between the two guns we're allowed to choose from in this thread though, I use the MG36 more often because if I'm not in the sniper kit, I'm right up close to the front line.

100 hours with the MG36 here, it's absolutely heaven, and even if the PKM does have the first shot accuracy advantage, the MG36 retains its accuracy for a longer time. Just try it, shoot at a wall and see how accurate you can spray with it. Narrow corridor + lots of enemies + me at the end = enemies dead. It's what it does best.

Once I unlocked the PKM, I loved it... but then it seemed to get a bit more innacurate. Now whenever I play MEC, I reach for the RPK... I just LOVE that gun!!! Nice blend of accuracy, stopping power, and rate of fire. I like to find a nice overwatch position on the fringe of the battles and hammer away... flank to either side of the main route of attack, find some cover or well-concealed position, and let her RIP!!! Almost unstoppable (until the artty rains down, LOL!) if you can find a position where the enemy can't flank you and has to come at you head on. Steep-sided hills, water obstacles, buildings, etc... Nothing worse than someone sneaking up from behind and stabbing you.
pre 1.2 id use the PKM, 1.2 id use no other gun but the PKM, and now id still use the PKM it rules
MG is shit when trying to kill proned people on full auto while prone yourself
rpk-74. Wait, do we have to choose an unlock? PKM. I used to think the pkm was the best support weapon until I tried the rpk-74.

PKM - because it got One-Shot-Kill-Abilities compared to all other LMGs.
Usually use the PKM. It's better at mid to long range. If you are shooting at someone right next to you as support you are playing wrong.....
