I read about this, apparently they couldn't have the bass to high cause they didn't want anything to shake and ruin the building >< Nice post though, been waiting to hear more of Burial's new stuff for aaaaaaages

got some more witch house for you.

for anyone that likes/liked salem... this is a bit more chillout, a little less in-your-face, and a little more easily enjoyable

music is fantastic. almost hesitant to associate him with the witch-house movement, with all of its roughness and slurred laziness.

some of the best chillout i've heard in a while. fantastic use of samples. 'haunting' is a term thrown around a lot now... but it just is.

alright, take this one seriously. this is a big album and this definitely deserves a lot of attention from all electronic listeners.

if you like deep, meditative, minimal house music... beautiful samples, calming vibes, and an immersive album-long experience... make this it.

I haven't been on here in ages so... musicdump.

Things I'm loving atm, old and new.

Sounds like: HudMo pre-butter, FlyLo, other stuff off the album a bit like some passion pit.

Sounds like: The song above, but less sugar, more Dilla.

Sounds like: Eskmo, kinda post-dubsteppy sound. Kinda.

Sounds like: FlyLo, Madlib, general gangsta shizz.

Sounds like: Cinematic Orchestra, bit funkier, Fatima's got a cleaner-sounding voice too.
Floating Points' electronic stuff also worth a listen (K&G Beat, Vacuum Boogie)

Sounds Like: Indie Scot Rock; Frightened Rabbit, a plugged in and more instrumental Meursault.

it's uk funky... it's one of the many offshoots of the london/bristol dubstep scene. replaced the menacing, dark techno bass atmospheres of dubstep with a more upbeat, punchy house rhythm... took the atmosphere up instead of further down into bass-space. uk funky kinda takes the dubstep/garage rhythms, adds in the african/exotic flavour, reintroduces the garage sampling, locks in some r&b grooves, and pumps it out to the floor with a lot of fun. just to think that all of this stuff has evolved from dubstep, which seemed to be stagnating into a competition for who could be the 'filthiest' with their WUB-WUB-WUB-WUB crap... all of this has sprung out of nowhere in the last 12-18 months. as i keep saying, it's a VERY exciting time to be in london (or bristol) with your finger on the pulse of electronic music. it's a real melting pot of influences, and there's an insane amount of production and dj'ing talent out there, doing it justice.

one more (i'm actually in the process of trying to get my track of the year uploaded to the net... taking ages)

when i manage to get my favourite track up, i'll be sure to make a lot of noise
