None. If you are worried about failing school spend it on something else or save it.

Agreed, unless he was just being sarcastic. Without having played any of the others, I'd go with Fallout 3 II, er, New Vegas. However, Fable 3 looks very promising (I loved the first one). I'd probably wait for a bit. Play what you have already.

VATS is way less useful in NV than FO3.

The accuracy is way lower, AP costs are way higher, no invulnerability when in the slow-mo and shooting guns out of VATS is not complete crap.

It's only useful again tough targets at close range, otherwise you're better off shooting real time.

That's tough. Fallout NV will probably give you the most playtime, but AC: Brotherhood also has multiplayer now (and it's really fucking good from what I hear). AC2 was phenomenal and I'm sure Brotherhood will only be better.

I'd narrow your choices down to those 2 and then pretty much flip a coin. Can't go wrong with either.

I've always been a fan of the Fable series, havent tried 3 yet though but I'd bet its pretty good.  Probably addicting though

Is that the truth? Because then I might give it a try. The combat in FO3 made me head hurts and was the main turndown for me.

how about buying a multiplayer-orientated game that actually has replay-ability past the first 2-3 completions

tf2
bf2
any cod game
bc2
any mmo

im just saying buying a single-player game hardly constitutes a 'life changing' decision or even a consequential amount of time

life changing was just sarcasm, they all just look like great games and i cant decide. As for the multiplayer game I already have mw2 (black ops looks like shit), mmo is not my style, already wasted enough of my life playing bf, and I have halo reach as well. So time for a singleplayer game with a sick ass storyline.

Men of War.

Sure it's an RTS, but the direct control basically makes into a TPS.

Metal Gear Solid, the PC versions have good storylines and are probably good singleplayer values even today.

If you haven't played the Episodes of Half-Life 2, those are worth a couple plays.

Plenty of single player games and single/multiplayer games that I haven't tried online have been life-changing for me, insomuch as they altered my opinion of the genre/industry.

That'll definitely be life changing, as you're gonna waste so much time that you'll fail school for sure.

dont buy a video game if it is going to mess up something important in your life.. ive been there and trust me, its not worth it to satisfy gaming pleasures over an exam. most gamers out there are reverse minded that would do vice versa, there the worst people to deal with.

i never buy a video game when i have exams to study for, but the typical dumbass would. learn how to prioritize your life and youll do fine.
