Available through PSN, XBL, and iPhone/iTouch stores. Sonic 4 is a continuation of Sonic & Knuckles in the 2D scroller format.

I've heard the physics are terrible. As in terrible. The spin dash launches Sonic forwards a fixed distance, there's no momentum involved in the game at all and Sonic can walk up ultra steep slopes and stuff like that.

I've noticed that in the videos. Nothing moves right. The jump is wrong, the running is wrong.

Oh well. I don't trust reviewers when it comes to Sonic, they all said Sonic Rush was 'just like the old games' as well and it wasn't even close. And I can tell from watching the videos myself that Sonic 4 is very similar to Sonic Rush.

Also why is it so expensive it only has 4 zones.

Despite all that I would quite like to play it, but i'm not buying it any time soon.

You saved me from having to watch a vid myself, Yoda. Thx.

I read the same about the physics. If this ever comes out for PC, I'll download it. I'll be fine with the Sonic Collection for PS2 and the the gameboy advanced ones I have.

Pro-Tip for SEGA: This is 100 Billion times better than what you just released.

Yoda, have you played sonic 4 yet?

To be honest, no.

But I don't need to. I've watched plenty of videos (coupled with my experience with that game engine from the 2 Sonic Rush games) that tell me all I need to know.

Like this one.

I've just been playing this and it's just wonderful.

haha, try playing it mate. It's a lot better and a lot faster than that fan remix.

Graphics aren't as sharp, but it plays a lot better. Before criticising the hell out of the game, do yourself a favour and just play it, it's a really fun game

I'm not worried about the graphics. If anything I think the Sonic fan remix is a bit too cluttered.

I'm worried about the physics of Sonic and how he controls. They've gotten it wrong consistently every time since the Mega Drive, and yet a fan made game gets it right first time, and Sonic 4 looks just as bad, if not worse, than the others. It looks like they've tried to wedge in a slightly slower Sonic into the Rush engine and it's failed miserably. Ever since the first teaser for Sonic 4, everyone has said he looks wrong, he's moving wrong, he's jumping wrong etc. And the final release version is exactly the same.

Edit: Oh and by the way I can't download the trial or anything. Uni blocks all gaming connections (Like Steam and Xbox Live)

looking at that first video, I can understand your point of view, but I can't understand the video, it plays nothing like the version I'm playing! The physics are different to the old games, yes, but they are actually very good. You can really get speed and flow going, like with the original games.
(I'm playing on the ipod version btw, maybe the video is the console version)
