How to Train Your Dragon - still 10/10

Even after months of not having seen it and just having seen it again in 2D on a CRT television, this movie still takes the cake for 2010. The creativity is awesome.

The Road- 8/10 pretty good, but gets confusing at times and has a really sad ending imo.

How was it as compared to the book?

It was pretty damn faithful to the book, from what I observed. That being said, I found the book tremendously unengaging, so at least the film was over in only a few hours.

To each his own, I guess. I loved the book. Guess you have to be a parent to really connect with the main character's dilemma.

Going to see this as soon as I can, but I'm 99% sure that the trailer is what's making this film look so awesome.

New aliens prequel coming, based on how the aliens came to be. Hopefully it doesn't suck.

It's in 3D.

Doesn't always work that way. 'How to Train Your Dragon' was one of the best movies this year, 3d or not.

Personally, I thought Pitch Black was pretty good. At least a 6.5/10

Blade Runner: Final Cut 9/10

I prefer the Directors Cut tbh. The re-used footage is some of the scenes were too obvious, but still nice to see some scenes after the HD restoration + improved CGI look so crisp.

Lots of blood and gore. Also nice (unexpected) twist at the end.

I didn't like it much. Constant 'kids film' stuff was bothering me all the way through, as was the fact that a bunch of elements were ripped off other films.

I'd give it about 6 or 7. There was nothing new in it, it was just a big rehash of heaps of other animated films. Also the kid's voice bothered me a lot. He sounded like he had a cold the whole time. And why was he american.

I don't understand why the film got such high reviews accross the board. It was alright, but nothing special IMO. But I appear to be alone in thinking this.

But all the adults were Shrek Scottish. I mean the answer why the kid is American is obvious: To appeal to American kids. But that's a pretty crappy reason.
