Meh I've known this was coming since ~1 year ago where Valve hired Icefrog (the creator of DOTA)

I've never finished HL2, so I don't care about EP3.

After reading into DOTA2 a little more, I'm kinda interested. They seem to be really trying to improve the community part of it, which was the main reason I wasn't into those games.

I still would rather have it be an original IP though...

Also there's a good reason Episode 3 is taking so long.

It's like they're trying to cover up the fact they even make Half-Life while they branch out into other genres and IPs. Which in itself is fine, don't want to end up like Activision and just make Call of Duty and Guitar Hero. But I don't see the need to put Half-Life on the backburner so much. If they are. Who knows. They must be completely re-inventing it or something for it to take this long.


The game informer article says that the actual Dota 2 game is identical to the free ones. That's quite surprising. They're trying to do loads of stuff that isn't the main game to get people to buy it or something..

Well, I know one thing for sure, if dota2 isn't a HUGE improvement over DOTA/LoL I won't buy it... I kinda like LoL atm (especially the fact that denying is out!)

yeah ive heard that as well too, that they are just going with 3.  It'd be nice too, I would hope they revamp the source engine... its starting to age.
