The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
So you mean your skillset is irrelevant or otherwise not required by the economy? Not that half of what Howard did made any economic sense in the short or long term...Jaekus wrote:

If you are any good at your job you should be employable regardless. If you require government regulations to keep your job at a detriment to the economy Imma be like wut.
Then again, you work in mental health don't you? Aren't both parties going big on mental health policy and spending after that recent Australian of the year guy who got it for his work in mental health? I specifically remember Rabbott carrying on about 2000 new mental health beds in 100 mental health centres around Australia or some such bullshit which he wouldn't have been able to fund properly anyway cause the cunt is nuemerically illiterate.
Fucking politicians. Yes, I'm 20 and I'm fucking jaded with the whole lot... and considering I've had reasonably long term involvement with a political party to the point of meeting around half the sitting members of the NTLA at some point or another... I think I've been over-exposed.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
millions of others managed to have a job, why couldnt you? In fact the unemployment rate was under 5% under Howard, lowest since 1976.Jaekus wrote:

Exactly my thoughts fleccs, I never understood why everyone got in an uproar of worplace relations. If you make yourself a valuable asset to the company you have no worries about losing your job. The only people whining about them were the guys who hide behind their unions.
Not saying you're a bogan though Jaekus

It's due to funding. Since Rudd took office the place I work was opened due to indirect federal government funding that was boosted into the mental health sector. And since working there I've developed a skillset that I didn't have previously, well kinda did but more life experience as opposed to areas I can point to where I've received training in (suicide awareness, transcultural awareness, mental health first aid - you get the picture). In contrast I seem to recall reports in the media of private schools and hospitals receiving more federal funding than ever, yet simultaneously the public sector received cuts. I guess it wasn't that health and education were the issues, it was the fact that ultimately private schools and hospitals are turning a profit.

Pink slip is usual: 30-40
Greenslip: 400-600 depending if it's a home/business car
Insurance: 350 for 3rd party, over a k for full comprehensive.
Rego: 395.
That was a fun month, August.

I should get insurance again lol. Used to be with AAMI but those ads they have now really fuck me off.
Do you work in the public sector? I know of plenty of private mental health clinics... with my record. Fuck the army. Cunts.Jaekus wrote:

And don't discount life experience. My boss charges $60-$80 an hour or more for his time, not including materials, planning and management fees.
He holds no qualifications.

Only recently found this, 'tis awesome:
Were you always going to go into mental health, or was it an opportunity thing?Jaekus wrote:
