They use games to train?
then i have to say one thing
GAMES:
Doesnt learn people how to fly a REAL jet.
Doesnt learn people how to work with Real guns
Doesnt learn people how to use explosives
Doesnt learn people how to be a Sharpshooter
Doesnt learn people how to drive real Armors/Transports
Doesnt learn people how to control a helicopter
etc etc
So Its a waste of time to train on it
So yet again we see how DUMB those Arab militants are.

No, they really teach very little of those things. What games do teach, as argued by some psychologists, is the skill and the will to kill, though I disagree even with that. Racking up a few million kills in your career as a gamer, are you going to coldly shoot someone in the gut with a .38 for no apparent reason, unless you were already psychotic?OpsChief wrote:

Games in fact do precisley those things you mention and more. They teach researching skills, analytical skills, strategic skills, timing, and etc..
While they do not specifically teach the exact weight and feel of an M60 machinegun they do give you a sense of leading targets, grazing fires and many other individual supporting skills.
Games do train. Games are a very effective way to train. The use of games to train has been documented for at least 4500 years that I know of. Don't underestimate the power games have on increasing human performance.
And please m8 never underestimate ancient cultures....that is a totally visible minefield just waiting for a fool to stumble upon it.

I have to disagree with you unamednewbie. A properly put together video game can teach, albeit at a rudimentary level, some degree of tactics, coordination, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Games have been used for Millenia to train militaries/warriors. Now video games are probable not the best medium for that training, but it does give a foundation that can be built on.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

However, I am not going to deny that Army games do inspire a few positive statistics at military recruitment offices, but I am not going to call it a bad thing. It's a job.
Arab militants who successfully defended Afgahnistan against the Soviet Union (with our help) and who are engaging in guerilla warfare everyday with our guys in Iraq, and are honestly kicking our ass. dumb. right. Buddy, you're the dumb one.*ToRRo*cT| wrote:
