Null vote. A significant portion of the funding of this community center is from Prince Alwaleed bin Talal -- one of the most significant owners of Fox News Corporation.

This particular backer hasn't been that honest, but neither has his media company.

In short, the community center would already be operating shortly if right wing media hadn't generated a big controversy over it. As things currently stand, Talal profits either way. He makes money from the hysteria of Fox News through ratings.

It is still rather humorous to see right wingers jump to anger like the good little pawns they've allowed themselves to become though.

I never see this " hysteria " You talk about ? I see people and hear both sides. When I see a crowd shot from a low angle I assume their trying to make it look bigger. When they say buzz words like " Hate - Fear - Hysteria and their favorite - Racist " I assume they want to De-legitimize something or some view point. The mass media has lost almost all it's credibility with me on almost any topic save local weather and that ain't so hot either. I don't Consider some one who feels " Chills run up his leg ! " when some one stutters in front of him as a reliable source. You do not feel the same apparently.

Sensationalism was the source of this controversy. There was no big deal about this community center until outlets like Fox News spun the story.
