Doesn't seem very worth it tbh, in the end its just a game.

He's gonna have a real fun time in the marines then.

I don't understand what the difference between "war games" and paintball / airsoft is.
opfors?
And from that post I conclude that the most realistic experience of war that a normal person can have, without joining any armed forces, is airsport / paintball. Which is entirely shifty's point, I would imagine.

Major field exercises.
Shit even video games are closer to real war than airsoft.
Yes that's my point.liquidat0r wrote:

Now why do you get away with this and I get my balls ripped out?

I fail to see how video games can be a better simulation. You're just sitting at a computer for that.
So many things aren't simulated in a video game. The movement usually sucks, you cannot adapt your posture to the area you're in. It's usually just prone, crouch and standing positions you just have to make do with.liquidat0r wrote:

You're hopeless Cybargs.

I agree that it's probably not even remotely realistic. The point is that for the average person (especially in the UK where most people haven't held, let alone shot, a real gun) the closest simulation of (close quarters, infantry) warfare without putting themselves in any actual danger is airsoft / paintball.
siminuation? I presume that's a portmanteau of simulation and ammunition. In which case ... isn't that what paintballs and whatever the pellets are called that airsoft uses are?

Airsoft and paintball is as real as it gets for most people not in the military.

No. Look it up. Someone posted a link earlier, I can't imagine civilians can get a hold of it though.liquidat0r wrote:
